  1. The Gala festival uses the park side of the Rye that used to be attached to the farmhouse. The campers are on the Common bit.
  2. The Bloomsburys is a London-wide choir (with lots of SE London-based members, including me) specialising in jazzy, soulful tunes, gorgeous harmonies and sharing the love. Join us to sing the Winter away at Peckham Liberal Club on 3rd March, with support from singer/songwriter John Peacock. Tickets ?12/?9 conc. available from billetto.co.uk (or click on the link) https://billetto.co.uk/events/laka-ds-bloomsburys-spring-fever
  3. They sold our Peckham flat very efficiently and quickly, were extremely helpful when they didn't have to be, and didn't give me any of the usual estate agent bullshit. They're pricey, but they didn't actually over-value our flat and they did their utmost to find the right buyers for us.
  4. My cleaner (who is excellent) may be interested. She has recently moved to Sydenham so will be local to you. I can supply glowing references: she's honest, thorough and utterly reliable. I can supply her number or get her to contact you.
  5. Nunhead Community Choir isn't a gospel choir, but it does have an eclectic repertoire. They meet every Thursday during term time at Ivydale Primary School. Or if you want something more local, the Goose Green Community Choir are a lovely, friendly bunch, led by the excellent Dan Maitland. Think they meet on Tuesdays, but not sure about the times etc.
  6. Oooh...she was head girl at my 6th form. Glad to discover that she's still bossy as hell.
  7. I heard one of the Waverley bar staff was stabbed, but I can't for the life of me find any news reports or other information. I know what people say about the Wave, but they're always great with us, and I'm really worried.
