Hi does anyone have a reply to this? I'm a recent father and with the recent move, I'm worried that my better half is going to be a lonely in our new surroundings. Any suggestions gratefully received.
  2. Make sure you have an up to date 3G sim card. I got sent one last year and ignored it then Orange turned my existing sim card off and I had to ring up about it. All a bit embarrassing really as I should have just swapped my sim when instructed.
  3. In all seriousness, the use of a baseball bat may not be seen as appropriate force in the current climate. Especially one that's kept at the bed side as that's a sign of premeditation. I'm slightly alarmed by this because I caught a burglar in my old ground floor flat once. I heard a bump and a rustle and I snuck out of the bedroom to see him drinking MY orange juice from MY fridge. I don't know if it was the sound of me shouting expletives or the fact that I was starkers, but he legged it without challenging me. It's a brave man who faces another man who turns up to a fight naked! The lesson is that should make sure you secure your back door.

The map actually seems to be © Google and, for the UK, Barsasoft. I would imagine that if it really was © you the you wouldn't be frequenting a niche internet forum such as this at ten minutes to midnight on a school night.

Buy a dag of daffodils and share them > with your neighbours Without wishing to read the whole thread, the boxes are great for growing tomatoes in. One of my old neighbours used to request new boxes every spring and this year had the best part of a dozen grow bags lined up on her balcony. I'm not sure that's quite where I wanted my council tax money going...but she shared her produce so we didn't whinge.

This sounds weird but my Nan really loves tea towels so thumbs up for Xmas. My new place doesn't have a convenient place for my tea towels - do you have a tea towel holder I could see?
  8. My first post was deleted so I must have done something wrong. Apologies to the Admin so I'll say here that I'm new here and looking forward to shoppping down Lordship Lane to get some interesting and individual Christmas for my family and friends this year. This is a great little forum with lots of info for the newbie so keep going people, it's really handy :)
  9. Well I'm not reading all that but I think that a 20mph across the Borough is fine. For starters, most people use public transport and with all those bus stops, traffic lights, etc, you'll rarely get above 20mph anyway. In reality, it's not the speed limit that needs adjusting, but people's attitudes. City life means getting everywhere 3mins before you left. Just take it easy or leave earlier!
  10. Hello I'm new here and I think that everyone shortening the Dulwich part to Dul is really unfair because it makes this lively and vibrant suburban village sound more like some terrible provincial town like Maidstone or Reading. I've not had a lot of time to mooch about yet but the options on Lordship Lane seem fantastic for Christmas shopping. My family and friends are going to get some interesting and individual gifts this year - whether they like it or not! One thing that bothered me, and I've seen it in many other places I've lived, is that the Lordship Lane info website says that the St Christophers hospice charity seems to have two shops within yards of eachother. Surely they'd be better to get rid of one the buildings and giving the money they've saved to the hospice itself. Charity is important and I do my bit but this annoys me a bit. But if this is the only thing wrong with East Dul then that's fine with me!
