Sadly, the same happened to me in the Nunhead’s car wash about 3-4 years ago. I did notice it before I was about to leave so queried it. They did not want to take any responsibility; however, they had a CCTV so it was recorded and showed clearly when the paint came off. I can tell you there was lots of arguing. The main guy called the person who used the power wash and was suggesting they pay me £50 or something like that and it will be deducted from his wage. Then, he was blabbing away about paying taxes and pensions etc. because I queried if he has an insurance in place. I did not take the money as I felt it was unfair for the guy to pay it from his own pocket and left. When I had the car repainted (£300) I was told the paint should not really come off when power washed. (I have a second -hand car and I know it was in an accident, so I gathered the repainted job was done cheaply to sell the car) Now, when I visit a car -wash I ask to reduce the pressure or to stand farther away so the pressure is reduced. I also do think that all car washes should have an insurance to cover any damage to the cars. Good luck with it, I hope you will manage to get some sort of compensation from them.

Royal Mail Late Deliveries and the price we have to pay
kp4 replied to dulwich1955's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I am still waiting for my theatre tickets worth £XXX for a show played last Saturday. I know the tickets were posted on Tuesday last week as per confirmation. I went to the collection office 2x, the first time I was too late as their hours are only from 8am to 10am Mon-Fri (my bad) so I had another go on Saturday (the day of the show) their opening hours; 8am to 12noon. They had no clue just saying there is a backlog. Went I asked how can I complain I was given the following phone number 034 57 740 740. The post office employee said please do call. It seems they are not heard that they are short staffed. I did dial the number, but the waiting time was over 40min so I had to hang up as I run out of time. Luckily, my confirmation email with the order number was enough for the theatre to let us in. I know with everything else going on, this is not the end of the world, but the service is truly terrible. -
Another superb service from Stephen and his team. I found his details here and we cannot be happier about our newly installed carpet in the hallway. Stephen advised us on what we needed and answered all our necessary questions. He also rectified a small issue straight away with no problem. His team is professional, skilled and very friendly. Overall, it was a pleasure to deal with The Dulwich Carpet Company.

Anyone else bought any ill tasting coca-cola at Sainsbury's DKH?

Check the expiry date as they don't last long and the taste changes if too old. -
Thanks and yes that is the one we went to. Mainly, we did enjoy it overall. :)

Hello, Would you recommend Paradise Wildlife Park or Woburn Safari or are there any other near London? I have never been and my family is visiting so I thought this would be fun for them. Thank you Kat

Hello lovely people of ED and surrounding areas, I have been following Sadia's youtube channel, Pick up limes, for a while and I absolutely love her healthy cooking / recipes. I really had no idea she is an Afghani raised in Canada. Yesterday, she posted the below video which is very touching and I personally found it emotional. Please, please if you have 20min spare watch her video which I am sure you will love as much as me. All the revenue will be donated to the non profit organisations in Afghanistan. (all are described in her video in the comment section) Please note, I do not know Sadia personally. I just wanted to help somehow, but I did not know how so watching her video and maybe donating might be it. Thank you for reading & happy watching Best wishes Kat

Hello Does anyone know if this is an 'orange' peel plaster technique? Or, how is it done? (by a roller, spray gun or any other tool? - I've found too many varieties online and it is very confusing for someone like me = no experience) I need to do some fixing and would love to match the texture to be the same. The texture is very soft, the photo is a close up. Thank you in advance. Kat

I agree with Seabag. It is about his own discovery of various cuisines, but nothing really new to be interesting. Shame, as he seems like a lovely guy.

What kind of shop/eaterie would you like to see on LL?
kp4 replied to imasnookercue's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Well fishbiscuits it does for people who work or are unwell and have no time or energy to travel a mile down to Peckham, Herne or Forest Hill or other surrounding areas. No one implies that these must happen. They are just some ideas and responses to the original post. There is no need to be patronising. fishbiscuits Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > rahrahrah Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > This thread was about what stores you would > like > > to see on Lordship Lane, not what stores do you > like in Peckham. > > OK... but opening a business very similar to > another one that's only a mile down the road isn't > always going to make sense, is it? -

I would love a good middle eastern food in the area. -
Hello This might be a long shot, but I bought a Bosh dishwasher which is a bit shorter than my Ikea kitchen. Does anyone know a trick for the doors installation so it would fit/be in line with the rest of the cabinets? Thank you in advance! Kat
