  1. As mentioned by a few other posters earlier on, I would also love to hear from anyone who can quote on using these tiles for a front path: http://www.toppstiles.co.uk/tprod42210/section-1/Victorian-Black-White-Corner.html They look great online and presumably this would be an affordable way of getting the original victorian look? I do think that there are too many bins...I had one of ours taken away (the garden waste one) as three is a bit ridiculous. I used to live in a Lambeth council area and we just got given different coloured bags, one for recycling and one for normal rubbish which we put outside on the right day which worked well. It would be great if people did pick up rubbish/not leave masses of junk in their front gardens/occasionally paint their walls if needed - I think that is just normal politeness towards your neighbours. One annoying thing is that the bin men always leave the bins all over the place/on their sides etc. Not great if you were an old lady or something and have to keep sorting that out as they are quite heavy.
  2. Thanks so much - really helpful. Ill probably try the one on upland road-thanks!!!
  3. Hello! Does anyone know if there is anywhere local that can value jewellery? Thanks!
  4. Now that Spring is on its way I'm looking for a gardener to help me out with my back garden. I tried looking for old pists on the forum but couldnt find an up to date one re gardeners. I need someone for 2 hours work and to remove some garden waste to the tip. Please drop me a text on 07715 460482 if you can help or can recommend anyone? Thanks so much!

  8. I was hoping to book a massage or maybe a mani/pedi locally and have never tried either of these places - has anyone tried both and can recommend one as being better? Also wondered if anyone has tried the salon in Dulwich Village - Lesley Leale-Green? Any reviews of either place would be much appreciated as I couldn't find much online. Thank you! :)

  14. Thanks very much, I'll try giving him a call for a quote.
  15. Thanks for this. I think perhaps it is plywood rather than chipboard? Unfortunately the floorboards are definitely gone in the living room as when we had new radiators installed they took the floor up and you could see the earth underneath the plywood/chipboard!
  16. Hello! Could anyone please recommend someone affordable and good who could install some wooden flooring? Also, bizarrely in our house we have original wooden floors in the corridor upstairs, bathroom and one of the bedrooms, but other than that all of the original floorboards have been removed and replaced with chipboard. We'd like to install some new floorboards and remove the existing carpet buts it's difficult to know what to do to 'match' the originals (I know that actually buying original floorboards is crazily expensive). I like the white painted floorboard look but in that case would you use cheap solid pine click together flooring and paint it? Or has anyone found any click together affordable floorboards anywhere locally that look a good enough match to the original floorboards? I was also thinking I could get the pine floorboards and stain everywhere in the house with a dark wood stain/varnish like Jacobean Oak? I was wondering what solutions other people have come up with. Any suggestions/tips/help much appreciated! Thank you!!!
  17. Thank you so much for all the help :)
  18. Thanks very much...very helpful! I will definitely check out the pharmacy on NorthCross for make up...that is a good tip! :) There are hardly any shops near my work either so great to find out what we have nearby. Thanks again!
  19. Thanks very much, this is all really helpful... :) Any local places for clothes etc that anyone recommends? Also is there anywhere in ED where you can buy makeup?! I think we really need a Boots or Superdrug or something... I like ED and Mrs Robinson and Oliver Bonas for homeware stuff but wondered if I had missed anything else good? Thank you :)
  20. Hello! This sounds random but I have moved to ED from somewhere with a lot of local high street shops, and wondered where people recommend as the closest place to go for general high street stuff like boots, topshop, h&m, zara, or even a department store like debenhams etc...it would be great if there was a small mall or highstreet close by somewhere with this kind of thing when you want to do a bit of shopping at the weekend without going to oxford street or westfield? I do try and use the local shops around lordship lane as much as possible, but the range for clothes is not that extensive so any advice would be really helpful :) Thanks so much in advance! xoxo
  21. Hello! I'd love to come along too if that's ok? Can I just turn up having read the book? Looking forward to it, I love The Clockhouse!
  22. We don't have a house number outside our house at the moment and my husband likes the way some house have it painted/stencilled on in black on the wall near the door of the house. Is there someone local who can do this, or is it something you would do yourself with a stencil? Thanks so much!
  23. Wondered if anyone could tell me if the car boot sale on Sundays next to Sainsburys is any good and whether there are lots of people to make it worth going to? I was going to go this Sunday with lots of clothes, books, DVDs etc and wondered if there will be enough people around buying to make it worth loading up the car :) Has anyone been recently and checked it out? Thanks!!!!
  24. Under the big picture of the woman or under the pizza boxes?!
