Thanks everyone for asking if my brother is ok, he is fine and wasn?t too traumatised by the event. My Brother is a former security guard and knows self defence pretty well, so he isn?t just the ?average? person walking around, he did not ?hit? anyone. Police have been informed and is all being taken care of. I don?t need anyone telling me or my family on what we should and should not have done I am just simply telling locals about the incident and to just be very vigilant, do what you need to do if you are in this situation but just be aware. For those asking for more description they were all wearing jogging bottoms and hooded tops (black, grey and navy blue) had pouch bags around them and were British African/Caribbean

On Thursday 11th June at Midday my brother who is a 30yr old adult was walking back from the post office, as he was walking past Goose green park near the Zebra crossing at the Roundabout he was stopped by a guy on a bike wearing a mask, he said he looked between 18-25 but was hard to say. The boy asked him not to move and was then approached by 2 others wearing masks who were on foot. They repeatedly asked my brother ?what have you got for us? and one of them shouted ?give me your phone fam? My brother did not at first respond to them as he was trying to think tactically on what to do as he did not want his phone stolen, eventually the boy on the bike came off and they tried to gang up on him further, my brother grabbed one of them by his wrist and put him down on the floor, the other two started to kick and punch him until a man who was passing by near Mirash in a blue jacket (probably in his 40s?) shouted out and came to help him, the boys fled off down East Dulwich Road towards St Johns church. Firstly we just want to thank the man who helped my brother, there were many people who passed by and although we can understand that some may not want to get involved for whatever reasons we just want to give our many thanks to him if he does see this or his family come across this post. I know that no one is safe anywhere and harm is around every corner especially in London, but my brother and myself are just surprised that as adults we still have to face this, we hear a lot on the news or on social media about teenagers facing these issues. When we were teenagers and attended local schools we faced these things but now as adults it really is ridiculous! (Not saying that it?s any less for our children on the streets). What?s more shocking is that this took place in broad daylight! I thought I would share and just give you all a little nudge to be cautious especially near Goose green as I have heard many other similar stories on the forum.

I also want to add I have noticed that many landings now take place from reading down to LHR rather than over London, but you must also remember that people on that side will also start complaining, no matter what there will never be a solution or peace for anyone, if it really does bother many of you then the only solution is to to move to somewhere where you won?t find any aircraft noise at low altitudes.

I really don?t think they care, they probably have websites for you to complain, a campaign, regular updates saying ?continued problem? ?looking into it? etc, even if they take it to parliament to debate.. they don?t care, it?s all for show to make public feel that things are in place for them because if they didn?t have these things in place it will be worse, this way they can control those who complain about aircraft noise by making you feel you are doing something, but the actual truth is they simply don?t care! London airports make millions in revenue yearly, pilots will not be able to monitor where they fly over, they need to circle London airspace for a number of reasons until they get the all clear for landing, a majority of the time planes fly over this part of London 3,500 - 4000ft low, as for LCY it?s understandable for them to fly lower as they are approaching the airport runway. We live in London, we chose to carry on with our lives here/move here and we have the choice not be here. We live in one of the biggest cities in the world, where Heathrow is one of the worlds biggest hubs in terms of incoming/outgoing/connecting flights, this is our life, and unfortunately the truth is no matter how much you complain about it they simply don?t care, they get your feedback, they put up articles, campaigns are led by the public but I don?t think it will change at all, it?s all about money to them..

Harris use Kings College Sports grounds in Brockley rise and have been doing so since 2010, almost 10 years! I?m pretty sure by now they have formed a very strong relationship with the local council/owners/university and have come up with a good agreement of using the grounds and at a good price, as far as I am aware Harris Boys? are probably the only school who use the grounds very regularly as they do a PE session in the morning for 2 hours and the afternoon for 2 hours five days a week, apart from that they use the sports hall and when students get to year 9 they do 40% theory towards their compulsory sports qualification, after all they are a sports academy. I?m pretty sure Harris Federation would rather stick to this systems rather than working out the legal paperwork etc to facilitate the boys, also I?m sure the school staff do not want public, girls, dogs or traffic noise to be in the way of learning. Another thing to add is some other Harris schools around London also use local sports grounds to facilitate PE lessons and they have done so for many years, as far as we know it probably is more cost affective and easier for them.

There were lots of caravans at the back of the ED Sainsbury?s car park (opposite the nursery) this morning at 7am. Today was the first time I seen them, not sure how many days they were there for and how many more days they will continue to be, does anyone know anything about this? Most of the caravans have a logo on them saying ?filmscope? on it, I looked online but couldn?t find anything.

My condolences go out the the mans family, it?s a real shame that this has happened.

The pharmacy next to Melbourne Grove Medical Practice do readings and the medical practice have a self machine downstairs next to the toilets, there are no lines as you go in and put your arm through and it prints out a ticket with your results Hope that helps!

For the past 2-3 months there has been no southern rail representative working at the station, the ticket office has been closed for this amount of time, one of the Oyster card readers is broken and now all the electronic timetables just say ?Welcome to East Dulwich Station? with no train times.. Who do we speak to about this? Is anyone else frustrated that the station is just becoming abandoned by southern rail? I know the station has its minor ups and downs and I won?t even start about the service from Southern Rail with their delays and cancellations but I think it?s just gone too far now!

Hello ED, I don't read much and would love to start reading again, I want recommendations on a book that I will get grasped into, anything that will make me not want to put it down at all. I am interested in genres such as Historical (based around war, Great Depression) feminism, dystopian, fantasy, tragic, play books (such as 'An Inspector calls') and books with brain teasing or mind blowing cliff hangers. - To Kill a Mocking Bird - Of Mice and men - Handmaids Tale - Harry Potter Trilogy - An Inspector Calls - On the Run - Anne Franks Diary - Street car Named desire - Animal Farm - 1984 The above books are examples of books I have read and has been stuck with me, I can remember these ones from page to page and now I'm looking for a book alike, something that I will never forget! Would love to hear suggestions on books alike or what you may think I would like based on the above information. Thank you MrDude :)

Growing up in ED I used to play in the small park near Sainsburys (st Francis park) and for many years me and my friends/siblings have said the trees on the small hill and the tree near the playground are very big Christmas trees (because of the looks and shape)however, it has got me thinking about what types of trees they actually are and where they came from and why they were planted there specifically? Does anyone have any tree knowledge or know the history of the park and anything about those trees? I have been curious for many years and would like to know more about them now.. I posted a picture I found online however it is not very clear (sorry) Thanks
