  1. Anyone got any recommendations for this? We used Sundial before (Steve Carter + his team) and they were excellent - but no longer trading, sadly.
  2. Hey - did anyone contact you about this? I used Steve before and wanted to again, but can’t get in touch… :( Just heard from Steve: nope. Such a shame, their work was top notch.
  3. Our cat Hartley stayed out last night (Saturday 17 July), which he never does. We live on Kinsale Road (near the Tesco on East Dulwich Road). He was last seen at home, around 8:30pm. He?s slim, with wavy ginger and white hair and a very fluffy tail. Pics attached. He?s wearing a pale pink collar with a bell and tag. He?s microchipped. He?s very friendly and has a history of following people and popping into their homes, so could be in someone?s house or shed. Please call if you see him: 07729 453604 or 07904 528470. Thanks.
  4. Love to bake? Come join us! Our small group of amateur bakers has been going for a few years (we started via a post on this forum) and we'd love a few new faces. We meet on the third Monday of the month, 8-10pm ish, at one of our houses. We all bring along a bake to share; we agree monthly themes and half of us bake something savoury, the other half something sweet. There's usually a glass or two of wine involved, or a cup of tea. It's relaxed and fun - definitely not a competition! All that matters is that you enjoy baking. Please PM me if you'd like to know more, or to come along.
  5. Hi sally buying - thanks for taking the time to flag this, it's kind of you. It happened on Saturday, and the pane is being replaced this week. sally buying Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > overcaffeinated Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > mancity68 Wrote: > > > -------------------------------------------------- > > > ----- > > > Just heard that one will be opening on > > Bellenden > > > Road too next month. Laura (the owner) is lovely, too.

A friend and I are setting up Gather, and yes, we hope to open next month. Our website (www.wearegather.uk) has more info about what we'll be doing, and we're on Insta/Twitter (@wearegather_uk) and Facebook (facebook.com/wearegather.uk). We hope to see some of you when we've opened!
  8. We used Sundial (Steve - 07966 493641) to refurbish and retrofit with slimline double glazing for most of our windows, and replace a couple with new ones. He and his team were brilliant and the windows look amazing. Highly highly recommend. Happy to send pics if you PM me your number, or for you to pop over and see them in person (we?re in Peckham Rye).
  9. Has anyone had a builder/handyman do this type of work? Please PM me if so.
  10. We have approx 40m squared of floor on which we want to lay cork tiles, and we're looking for someone to do the prep work. Currently, about three quarters of it is ceramic tiles, and the rest is unfinished concrete. The tiles need to be prepped (sanded and/or primer applied), and a self-levelling screed (Ardex K-15) applied over the whole floor. The unfinished concrete section is a bit lower, and leads to some stairs going down. If you've had this kind of work done and would recommend who did it, please let me know. We want a high standard but not too pricey, ideally! Thanks.
  11. Hi everyone - we need to install a new door frame, and then hang a new door. Does anyone know how much this might cost? And could recommend a carpenter/handyperson who could do the job well? Thanks!
  12. I?ve done quite a bit of business planning to open a ?zero waste? shop in Q1 next year. Primarily it?ll be selling unpackaged food/cleaning refills/non-plastic items. Unfortunately, and unexpectedly, my business partner has just pulled out (for family reasons) - and I have premises lined up. So, I?m urgently looking for a new partner. My medium-term plan would be to work 3 days a week (I have a toddler); that plus seeing the benefits of a co-founder to share ideas, skills, ups and downs (and have fun!) is why I?m looking for a partner. They would need to be able to commit to working at least part-time from the start. Since I started working on this, a ?zero waste? shop has opened in Nunhead. I don?t believe that matters; ideally it?d be like your local grocers, so our catchment areas would be different. There are plenty of potential customers to support us both. I should be upfront that due to the timeframe, to secure these specific premises we?d need to have our own start-up capital. Please PM me ASAP if you?re seriously interested.
  13. Thank you, everyone, for filling in the survey. It?s super helpful and has really energised me to build a business that works for as many of you as possible. Unfortunately in the last couple of weeks both of my business partners have pulled out (for good and understandable reasons). I?m still very keen to do this, so I?m looking for new people - I think it?ll be more fun to share the highs and lows, it?ll bring different skills and ideas, and also I want to work part-time (I have a young toddler). I?ve done quite a bit of thinking and research, so some of the legwork is out of the way; but I?m also very open to new ideas and challenges - I don?t have all the answers! I?m after a business partner (or two) to build and share this together. If anyone is interested, and serious, please PM me. Thanks.
  14. My toddler and I were in the small playground in Peckham Rye Park (near the pond) this morning, 11ish to midday. My straw hat, and his yellow ball, were on/in his pram. I?m hoping they?ve been inadvertently taken by another over-eager toddler... the hat was new and the ball was his favourite, so please PM me if you find them - thank you.
