  1. Stuff was stolen from my car, parked in Oglander Road, some time during the last few days. I fear I must have failed to lock it. There was nothing of any great value, but it's annoying. Memo to self: double-check that car is locked in future.
  2. Krakatoa erupting....
  3. Train to London Bridge, then walk along the river to Blackfriars. Very pleasant walk if it's not raining.
  4. I do live in that street. I for one certainly do not want the restriction removed, and I'm all in favour of it being enforced.
  5. dbboy might like to look at the Charity Commission web site, which has loads of (?too much) information: https://www.gov.uk/topic/running-charity/setting-up
  6. >Personally I'd cable everything that is possible to do so, such as the PC, Laptop and Smart TV using Ethernet cable. You get the full speed given by Virgin, where as you lose some of the speed via wi-fi. The further away from the router, the slower it is. That's good advice. If using ethernet cable isn't practical, powerline connectors such as these: http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/tp-link-tl-pa4010kit-av500-powerline-kit-n20nr may be a good solution. They use your existing mains wiring to carry internet information.
  7. ED to LB at 7.50 or 8.10 is usually fine - there's plenty of room at the back of the train. Allow a few minutes for getting off the platform at LB, though.
  8. > Why are there four stops from Denmark Hill to Dog Kennel Hill? Because elderly or infirm people and those with small children or heavy shopping may not be able to walk very far, particularly where the hill is steep.
  9. >it's horrible on a cold, windy night. It's a lot worse waiting in the open air on Vauxhall Bridge.
  10. This isn't directly an ED matter, but as with the Loughborough Junction thread, it could affect many of us. There is a plan to demolish Vauxhall bus station, only ten years after it was built. More details are here: http://www.vauxhallcivicsociety.org.uk/2013/12/closing-vauxhall-bus-station/ and here: http://www.urban75.org/blog/vauxhall-bus-station-threatened-with-demolition-to-make-way-for-a-riverside-town/ Some may wish to sign the petition opposing the plan here: https://www.change.org/p/kate-hoey-mp-boris-johnson-mayor-of-london-lib-peck-lambeth-council-leader-save-vauxhall-bus-station?tk=FpA-GDPFIHliA_0gNdnTUWZLAPjHlvDFgXY73NguFqk&utm_source=petition_update&utm_medium=email
  11. > Best thread ever...sadly no longer available I > think? It's here: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,746349,748871
  12. The change.org link isn't working.
  13. Quite agree. This is matter of legitimate public interest. Admin does a good job of moderating this forum, but on this occasion I believe the wrong decision has been made and I hope that the thread will be reinstated. Incidentally, libel is not an issue where a deceased person is concerned.
  14. Put it in the front garden with a label saying "For Sale ?50". Someone will nick it.
  15. Slightly off topic, but for those who haven't previously seen it, this gem is worth reading: http://www.lettersofnote.com/search?q=+clerk+kerr
