  1. I had a blood test at TJC yesterday, where the new system is indeed in operation. Since no-one had been told about the new system, no-one had an appointment and the young lady who had the unenviable job of dealing with this had to book everyone in for an appointment for ten minutes after they arrived. The young lady thought that the reason for the change was to try to get more people to go to TJC and take pressure off King's. One of my fellow patients was blind, and another was very elderly - neither of them will be able to book on line. So I'm not sure who this helps. FWIW the on line system appears to be working now.

  3. Nigello's bird couldn't have been a parakeet, could it? Against the sky it can be difficult to see colours.
  4. I went (with a GP referral) a few weeks ago, mid-afternoon, and didn't have to wait at all.
  5. Google Translate doesn't seem to work on this thread.
  6. Took the attached picture in Belair Park today. It's either a redwing or a fieldfare!
  7. It's not just in PR park. We've seen rats in a number of parks recently, including Belair Park yesterday. They're usually near water.
  8. My battery is nearly 11 years old, but the AA man said there was nothing wrong with it that a good charge wouldn't put right.
  9. Thanks for that. And no thanks to Conway - my car had a flat battery because we've not been able to go out for weeks and I had to get the AA out to start it and then run it for an hour to charge the battery so that I could move it - all for nothing!
  10. James, Could you please read the thread about the impossibility of getting a parking permit for the new West Peckham CPZ here: /forum/read.php?5,2101431 and get them to sort it out? Thanks.
  11. Missing cat - Stani was last seen in Oglander Road at about 9pm on Wed 14 August. He is a grey and white long haired tabby with a pink nose. He is chipped. If anyone has seen Stani please call 020 8693 8378. We would be grateful if you could check garages and sheds. Thank you.
  12. We were burgled about 15 years ago and only jewellery was taken. There seem to be specialist thieves who only take what they know they can sell on. Hope you are lucky in getting the ring back.

  14. Thanks. Sounds like a trip to the bar will be in order!
  15. We were hoping to go to the Boxing Day match, but online tickets are sold out. Can anyone advise on how easy or otherwise it will be to get in on the day?
  16. Give them to the Ocado delivery person and get 5p each for them.
  17. James, Are you sure? We have the parade by Goose Green School tomorrow, but that only lasts for a short time. Maybe the closure is 10.45-12 noon?
  18. There's a report on this in the Mail today: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5398255/Croydon-Cat-Killer-hunted-team-FIFTEEN-officers.html
  19. My wife and daughter saw a a hummingbird hawk-moth a couple of weeks ago at the Centre for Wildlife Gardening in Marsden Road. The only time I've seen one was in the gardens at at Glyndebourne (sorry to place-drop!).
