I know this thread is about dog poo on Goose Green but I would just like to highlight that as a Father of a two year old and a 6 month old I have to regularly remove dog poo left on the pavement outside our house on a weekly basis. I am sick to death - it is one of the most disgusting things any dog owning person can do (don't get me started on cats who seem to poo in everyone's garden other than there own). I see pets as being an extension of their owners who I assume don't also poo on the pavement, but maybe they do?! Now I have small children I seem to have become very passionate about this issue. I also saw a dog walker with five dogs just watch as one of their dogs did a poo and they clearly had no intention of picking it up! Maybe the offenders don't have kids so don't have the same anxiety as me and have never had to pick smelly poo out of the sole of their kids shoes or the tyres of their buggy! Their is zero excuse for it - it's simply disgusting behaviour. Does anyone think my view is wrong?

I've decided that as a non-dog owner that I'll be taking myself for a walk every morning and having a poo on the pavement outside other people's homes and letting little children step into it on their way to school. As they say if you can't beat them, join them. If I was caught I would claim that I had irresponsible parents and that I didn't have any plastic bags in my rucksack. Leaving dog poo on pavements should be a criminal offence punishable with having to pick up dog poo off the streets with your bare hands every morning for 2 years. This should do the trick. Don't get me started on other people's cats pooing in my garden and not their own...

Hi, My wife and I live in a 2 bedroom half-house on Silvester Road and we are currently planning a rear extension and loft conversion as we would like to start a family, love the area and don't want to move out of the area to be able to afford a 3 bed house! We are struggling to decide on a suitable layout and design. As those of you who live in a half-house understand, the trade off with a half-house versus a normal house is you share a front door and hallway with your neighbour (with 2 internal entrance doors thereafter)and the bathroom is normally always on the ground floor. We have an existing, but very old, rear L-shaped extension incorporating a galley kitchen and bathroom. We are unsure whether to move the bathroom upstairs by using some of the precious bedroom space or to keep it downstairs but fill-in the side return and open up the kitchen - full width with bi-fold doors and sky-lights. Has anyone done this to their half-house? We are also thinking of converting the loft at the same time (suffer the disruption in one go!) but we are struggling to visualise the space that the loft conversion with en-suite would provide. Are there any local half-house owners reading this that have converted their loft? We would be very grateful if you would be so kind as to show us your loft conversion (in person or via pictures) so that we can understand what the space will look like. Where did you position your new staircase? was it directly above the existing staircase? If so, is the size of the second bedroom still adequate for a child's room? Hi everyone, I met with Martin from Martins Builders this morning after seeing their advertising board outside numerous homes in the local ED area. We are looking to build a rear extension and a loft conversion. Martin was very knowledgable and I had confidence in what he was saying. I would really appreciate any feedback you may have before I go forward with Martin. Thank you so much.
