  1. A big thank you to all of the workers that have helped us throughout 2020. They include hospital workers, GP surgeries, the key supermarket staff (a big shout out to Sainsburys Dog kennel hill), the small independent shops that have helped the local community (Organic Village for helping the elderly in their community), delivery drivers, call centre staff, teachers, emergency services, volunteers, transport workers, postal staff, street sweepers, refuse collectors and park staff that have made out parks and open spaces a lovely, and sometimes the only place to go.
  2. Marmora Road has a spectacular one. If you arrive at the botton end of Scutari Road, outside the park you can see it right at the very top of the road and then its a nice walk up to see the lit house.
  3. Another recommendation for Dave Reilly, tele number 07932 505 589. He came out promptly (within 30 minutes!) to assess the issue and gave honest and professional advice. Thank you Dave.
  4. Yes it's beautiful, we saw it perched high in the tree.
  5. My mum went to tend to 2 graves there yesterday and as she tended to one a dog came to urinate in the middle of the nearby other one. The couple just casually walked past and brushed it off as if the dog was just being friendly. Maybe these people don't have their loved ones buried in this cemetery, but please respect those grieving families that do. 6. Thank you for clarifying OutofFocus. I understand where you're coming from Jack as I too have loved ones buried there and find it so disrespectful when I'm visiting a grave and have dogs running past and trampling all over the graves. Countless times I've gone there to find grave ornaments knocked off the grave or dogs dashing past running all over the graves. Please people remember that this is a cemetery first and foremost.

  8. There used to be one in the Coop Lordship Lane, not sure whether it's still there.
  9. Thanks do much Fizzy for posting this, it's so very interesting. Do you have any more history on these 2? I remember the carpet shop was Dourofs carpet shop and previously an estate agents and before that an antiques shop back in the 60s and before that a florists and a photography studio before that. Where Olivelli is now years ago 'Haywoods' handbag shop was run by Maureen Haywood.
  10. Thank you Sue Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ❤️
  11. I wasn't going to write on here, but I thought that Organic Village Market deserve huge praise and recognition. During lock down the management and lovely staff have been quietly looking after a vunerable pensioner in the community. Whilst everyone has been thinking about their own needs, Organic Village Market have been thinking of her and her needs. Organic village market represent what a community shop is really about, they have shared kindness and been a great help in a time of need.
  12. Mine's self isolating on the doormat still.
  13. With the escalating number of London bus drivers dying from COVID 19 it's about time something was done to try and protect them. Their health has no price.
  14. Seeing butterflies and bees land on the wild flowers that have grown in the un cut grass and appreciating the blossom trees because we have time to do so.
  15. I'm so pleased to hear this. People have been so ignorant and selfish. NHS staff and their loved ones are putting their lives at risk because people are failing to understand the most basic request. I've managed not to leave the house for a week because the safety of the elderly, the vulnerable and the NHS staff and their loved ones are worth much more to me than a stroll in the park.
  16. A thought for DKH staff: Does anyone know what safety precautions that the hardworking staff in Sainsburys have in order to work through this pandemic? Unfortunately they don't have the choice of working from home and I personally have witnessed members of the public coughing as they approach staff to ask questions. Would staff be able to wear gloves, masks or scarves if they wish (perhaps with pen and paper to hand to assist customers) so that they too can protect themselves and their families?
