  1. I spoke to one of the workers on Friday when there were many of those 'dog vehicles' there. I inquired if they were closed for the day and she said no, come back later. Her excuse was they were waiting for "papers." Which I thought was a bit odd but perhaps there were a few workers that didn't have the appropriate visa, or at least couldn't produce it immediately. I don't know but when I went back later on Friday it was shut and has remained so. Hoping whatever issue they are having is resolved soon as my car desperately needs a wash!

There were two groups of workers, one group standing outside the gate having a smoke and laughing and another group that were all sat by the, what I thought were police, grouped together as if separated intentionally which is why I made this assumption when the girl said we are waiting on papers.....

Would be a real shame if it closed. I doubt it has anything to do with the location, it's perfect.

    Hope that helps!

  2. I'm not one to post negative opinions online, but when my wife and I moved to ED last year we registered with the DMC after doing a lot of research. We've never had such a poor experience with a GP. We moved to another GP within 3 months because the service, attention to detail and lack of empathy was terrible. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Best of luck to everyone in finding another GP or those still at the DMC.
  3. Hi All-

I've lived in ED for about 10 months now and I have yet to come across any sports leagues (formal or informal). I'm flexible re: the sport. Football, Basketball, Softball, Rugby, American Football, Tennis, bowling etc...doesn't really matter to me, just would love to join a group of like minded competitive individuals and have some fun (and get a little exercise too).

Yes, I realise that bowling isn't exactly a sport for exercise....no need to state the obvious.

Regardless, does anyone know of any such league, team or group in the ED area?

    Thanks,

    Jon

  4. @Strawbs thanks for the advice, although I have read a lot of positive reviews about the DMC, more than the Gardens Surgery unfortunately....but we are going to keep an open mind :) and certainly haven't decided on one yet.

@Alan Medic- yes of course trying to avoid amateurs...that's why we are moving out of our 'trendy neighborhood.' ;)

@the-e-dealer- we are moving from London Fields in Hackney and love Broadway market on Saturdays. The park is great on sunny summer spring/summer days for sun bathing socialising, drinking and bbqs. So many local pubs and restaurants that are wonderful and seem to be sprouting everywhere at the moment and the Hackney Picturehouse theatre does great deals for movies.

Open to any and all suggestions/recs! Best cycle shop for repairs etc...how's the Hamlet's Health Club?....

thanks again! I'm very impressed by the quick replies.

  5. Dear East Dulwich Forum-

First, I think it is amazing that you have your own forum, my wife and I are excited about moving to ED in April and we've already found a wealth of information, tips and advice regarding ED.

This is my first post and basically I just wanted to pose the question to all EDers out there:

What do you wish someone had told you before you had moved to ED?

Any other advice or recommendations on anything from GPs to best pubs are greatly appreciated!

Many thanks in advance :) We can't wait to move to ED.

    Kind regards,

    Jon
