Another recommendation for Back to wood flooring. Steve and Nichola are a pleasure to work with and really know their stuff. They have just completed a second lot of sanding and sealing for me, having used them about 3 years ago in another property. Once again the transition from dirty, old and uneven floorboards to flattened, beautifully coloured boards with masses of character was a really good move. I wanted to post a personal recommendation for Mark Newlove of NewGas Boilers. I have three properties. I had one boiler that initially needed installing in a different place to the old one, with the idea in the back of my head that I might replace the other two at some point for simplicity of maintenance. After Mark and his colleague had completed the first one I was so impressed with their work that I got him to do the other two. Im in the building game and can recognise someone who knows what they are talking about and carry out neat and professional work. He is obviously a bright and very experienced man which is what you need when either you are having an installation or need a bit of problem solving because a well maintained and well installed boiler will save you money in the long run. Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this. Im refurbishing my own home and its going to take a about 6 months. Pretty basic stuff mostly, painting, flooring, bit of decking, tiling moving stuff around and cleaning. Ill be starting from the last week of May 2016 and looking for someone to help. Someone sensible, honest and steady would suit better than a bull in the china shop approach. Happy to discuss payment options privately but it would be a decent amount for a good person. Some sort of refs would be required and prefer someone from East Dulwich or close by. I dont mind a slightly older person but there will be some labouring involved so they need to be fit. Overflowing urinals onto the floor for two months at least now in the upstairs male changing rooms. I have been complaining for that long, written and and verbal at least 4 times. Managers are indifferent - 'our maintenance team are aware of the problems' but nothing happens and nothing has changed. They throw a sign in front of it and thats it. People walk there, shoed and barefoot, not knowing what they are actually walking in. The urinals fill periodically and the contents spill onto the permanently wet floor. Clearly the contents of the overflowing urinal is often, well, yellow.

Im thinking of having a loft conversion in East Dulwich - I have a mortgage. I would rather not involve my building society if I didnt have to. Assuming I get all the relevant permissions do they need to know? Did you tell yours? Did you have to get consent? My understanding is that in East Dulwich so long as you keep within permitted development of 40cubic meters, obtain a certificate of lawfulness and a building completion certificate. In anyone has experience to the contrary I would be very interested to hear about it. Tom

Big thumbs up for Dave the cooker man who came and at length diagnosed my faults, didnt want to take any money until I insisted, came back again and installed a tricky new cooker for me at a very reasonable price.
