  1. My little boy had it about 7 weeks ago. It was all fine actually and was just a bit red until couple of days ago - it's now developing into an angry looking thing with yellow stuff oozing out.. Booked an apppointment to see a doctor later this week. Seems odd that it's getting like this so long after the injection. Does anyone else have similar experiences?
  2. Another vote for the one recommended above. We use it on our bed for when baby's sleeping in our bed and it's really comfy to lean against.
  3. Found a set of keys on a bench in Goose Green this morning at around 11.45am. Will hand it into the ED police station on Monday if no one claims them. Please send me a PM.
  4. Another vote for disposables although I found the Lasinoh ones too stiff. Took me ages to find pads that were soft as I found many of them irritated my skin (don't think my skin's that sensitive....), Anyway, found Tommee Tippy Closer to Nature the best and bought in bulk on Amazon which worked out cheaper than Boots ones that way.
  5. I would just enjoy it... but then I tend to live in a land of denials :)-D
  6. Thanks everyone. Tough tough tough....
  7. Hello all, I will be going back to work this October 4 days a week. Had always assumed I would work Mon-Thu but vaguely remember someone saying taking Monday off works out better re: bank holidays, etc. Does anyone know how this is the case? Many thanks in advice.
  8. littleEDfamily, I think chelle184 IS the nanny she may be thinking of and I believe our son is extremely lucky to be looked after her.;-) I have looked into many childcare options and decided to go with nannyshare because our nanny is so wonderfully loving and caring and I just knew that there is no way he would get that feeling of being adored from other care options. I do think it is very important for young babies to have the one to one care. And yes, childcare is expensive but it's absolutely all dictated by the market - supply and demand after all. Chelle184 is absolutely, without a doubt, worth every penny!
  9. Hi Caitlin, When in July and how long do you need it for? We're going on holiday for a week in July (3-bedroom house off Melbourne Grove/ Lordship Lane) so would be able to rent the house out? Amy
  10. I have also PM'ed you on my other half's behalf...He is currently mega stressed having assembled yet another baby equipment with those impossible instructions ;-)
  11. Works for me!!!!!!! (a thousand cheers....)
  12. Fantastic! Thank you for all the PMs and replies. If you haven't already done so, could you send me a PM with your email address please? I will then send a group email in the next day or so to organise our first playdate! Better start tidying up the house now...:))
  13. I have a very engergetic 6m old boy and today, I discovered that when we have other babies at home, he gets fascinated by them (and vice versa) and therefore is so so happy! Had some friends from out of town come and visit us with their babies. We go to playgroups and coffee mornings but I have found that playgroups can be a little bit too noisy for younger ones (he gets grumpy after half an hour) and coffee mornings in coffee shops, etc. with other mums and babies don't really entertain him because I can't put him down and let him freely play (although I have a great time). So, would anyone be interested in getting together regularly one afternoon a week or so at our homes (I'll start hosting initially obviously) so that our little ones can be put down on the playmats, play with toys and generally be fascinated by the existence of other babies and the mums can happily sip coffee and chat? We live off Lordship Lane near ED Police station.
  14. Very true - about it being like Freshers Week. I was thinking today I would quite like to set up a playdate network for our 6m old boy. Sounds early but I have my reasons! Better go and post that thread now...
  15. You should! We went on a 13-hour flight with our little one when he was just under 3 months old and were lucky enough to fly business class. It was nice to have the extra space for when I was breastfeeding him and he didn't bother anyone at all. On the way back, I was on my own with the baby and the stewardesses fed me food behind the curtains as he refused to go in the bassiet or be held by anyone. Don't think you'd get that level of service in economy!!! Also on the way back, sat next to a businessman who was very friendly. In fact, little D didn't cause any trouble but the businessman started snoring really loudly waking us up so don't you worry about bothering others.
  16. Yes, ESPH does have a creche - Tuesday and Thursday mornings 9.30-12.30. It costs ?6/hour for members and is run by a lovely lady. We used the facility couple of times but we have managed to find a part-time nanny who is lovely. She comes to our house for 2 hours every morning Mon-Wed and then 3 hours on Friday. I just felt that our little one was too young to be in the creche with other toddlers (baby is now 5m old) running around although they do limit the numbers. The postnatal pilates is quite good and yes, you can take the baby with you in the pram. I went to a class last week and managed to stay for 40 mins until the baby stated screaming :) I researched and researched into this for a couple of months and am really happy with the arrangement now!
  17. Hi there, We had a Pilko to begin with and bought a bee when the baby was 2.5 months old as I wanted something lighter and smaller. Really happy with it so far. Some people say that they are too narrow and babies can grow out of them quite quickly but I thought we'd get a really light cheaper buggy when the time comes.
  18. We're looking to buy one now. Would you recommend it?
  19. Hi Heidi, We started off with a M&P Pilko which is a really good buggy but recently got a Bugaboo Bee. It folds with the seat still attached and is very light so we're happy with it.

  21. Thank you ladies!
  22. Ok, I know there have been lots of threads on prams, buggies, etc. but I was wondering if anyone who has/had a Bugaboo Bee offer me some advice. I am thinking of purchasing one. I currently have a Pilko and find it a bit bulky, especially when out shopping (very important). Given that our little boy is only 9 weeks old, hubby is not impressed that we're going shopping for a bugaboo this weekend. Need to prepare myself for all the questions he will be asking in order to accomplish this mission of bugaboo purchase! Qn1: It looks quite narrow. Do babies feel comfy in them? Also, does anyone have a toddler with a Bugaboo Bee and if so, do they find it comfy? Qn2: How long does the Cocoon last? Our boy is 9 weeks old but is a big baby (98th centile) so I wonder if the Cocoon is worth purchasing or whether to go straigh for the buggy mode. Qn3: I'm thinking of getting a second hand footmuff. I heard that it's machine washable. Does it wash well? Qn4: Anything helpful I should be aware of re: Bugaboo Bee? (e.g. shortfalls, useful tips, etc.) Thank you for all your help in advance!
  23. Thank you Belle and Pickle. So much to learn!!!!! God knows what I'd have done without the forum :))
  24. Related question (sorry Belle, my baby is only 9 weeks old so I have no advice to offer but been reading this thread in an attempt to learn!) When you put them down for a nap during the day, should I keep him downstairs where it's noisier with stuff happening around or take him back up to the bedroom where it's darker and quieter? Sorry to steal the thread!
  25. Hi Billy, I'm giving my little boy a bit of a rest from the daily struggle of trying to get him to take bottles. He had his first vaccinations yesterday so a bit stressed (or so I tell myself to use as an excuse for this break!) So far, I have Tommee Tippe Closer to Nature, Nuk Latex, Playtex drop-in and Breastflow. We have had the most success with Breastflow which I bought from HeidiH! We seem to have spent quite a small fortune on this now :)) Drop me a PM if you would like to borrow any of ours before you go and purchase them. Amy
