Paul's great. Excellent communications beforehand (voice and email), turned up when he said he would and had no qualms taking away some additional items. Will definitely use Paul again.

At short notice Aria visited and fixed a leak. Great communication both via SMS and in-person. Definitely would call Aria again.

Tommy has just been round to service the boiler. I only use him for any gas engineering work. Great guy and quality work.
-
I also recommend Tommy. Knows what he's doing and a really nice guy!

Paul recently retiled my bathroom and the finish is outstanding. He works to a very high standard and offers useful guidance on materials used as well as explaining why something was done as it was. One of my key questions when hiring, is: will this tradesperson a) understand a quality finish and b) can I just let them work without me constantly checking? Paul is a "Yes" in both cases. I am pleased to have someone as skilled as Paul in my contacts and it's just a matter of time before he's asked to tile the kitchen. Paul's phone number is 07548426131

Leon replaced a number of LED lights today. Great work, a very nice guy and I'm pleased to have found someone for further work. Highly recommended.

I can highly recommend Carl and his team. Excellent work (fence replacement and rubbish removal) carried out by really nice people whom one can simply trust to get on with it. There was a hiccup (caused by me, and not Carl) resulting in rework and waiting for new panels. Carl was very gracious in handling this and the need to shift his schedule in order to accomodate.

Des Bradley. Take a look at my posts - there's a recommendation on a thread (of other recommendations) for him . He is brilliant.

Does anyone know whether Hema is working at a new practice, and if so, which?

Des is the only person we'll let paint our house. Over the past five years, he's painted the inside (rooms, staircase, doors), and a few months ago he painted the outside (masonry, new sash windows and front door). He recently returned to touch up the outside too, which is a testament to his attention to detail. Des will always do an exceptional job.

Recommendation for specialist plasterer to restore period features

I can recommend Paul Brooks from Kent Mouldings (http://www.kentmouldings.co.uk/). His workmanship is excellent (and there's the additional bonus of being a really nice chap), and is often commented on by other tradespeople. Having told him my misgivings over tradespeople, he was quite happy to invite me to view his work on a job that he was carrying out in north London. Price for installing cornice and ceiling roses in our was very reasonable also, I thought.
