  1. Hi, Has anyone skied with young children, any tips? We are hiring a nanny so that we can take advantage of our ski in/out chalet. We are staying in Val Thorens. My concerns are around what should she wear, how should she travel - do I buy a sledge/snow trains for buggy, what will she do all day - I only plan to bring a few toys? Thank you!
  2. Thank you, I will run a search! Sadly I will have to go back to work, it isn't financially viable for me not to but I guess I might choose to go back 4 days per week rather than 5? It is something I would like to think about later though rather than pre-arrival!
  3. Hello! I am expecting my first child at the end of October and will sadly have to go back to work after 6 months off. I was originally thinking about looking at nurseries but after a few discussions with people who already have children I wonder if my baby would be better off with a childminder. So I guess I was hoping someone could confirm when I should start looking for a childminder (I understood for nursery I'd need to start looking now) and also how you find a childminder, I know they are also Ofsted listed but I wondered if there was a better way to find someone? Thanks Emma
  4. Hello!! I've just seen this group and have hopefully just managed to join the facebook group... (or sent a request to at least!) I'm expecting my first baby at the end of October, planning to work until due date but I'll work from home for the last 3 weeks so just 6 weeks (and a bit) left in the office. I might be able to make meetups during the working from home period?!? I'm in HOP, is there anyone else based in SE23? stacker285, I didn't get nausea in the first trimester and don't have it now in the third, but I do feel more tired (although not as tired as the first month or so) and I have terrible heartburn! So I feel your pain!
  5. I'm looking into my maternity leave at the moment and accrued holiday can either be used up before I leave or must be used up at the end before I return, i.e. I wouldn't be able to use them to make it 2 days per week until used. I suspect this is the official line as I work for a large company who have some sort of accrediation for this sort of thing. I'm not sure about flexible working as I will be going back fulltime unfortunately.
  6. This is an interesting post! I am waiting to complete on my flat which I then plan to rent out. I was planning on going the agency route as I was under the impression that people liked to look via an agency. I will be managing the property myself so it is really just the introduction the agency would be providing. Should I forget this idea and instead post on this forum or somewhere else instead? If you are looking privately where would you look?
