  1. I've been at the surgery my entire life. Penny, the advance nurse practitioner is amazing. I'm in the middle of a cancer scare and the GP has been amazing. I was contacted the day after blood results were received and referred to Kings the same day. The same GP phoned me today to see how I'm doing. They certainly have their faults but they've served me well over the past 56 years
  2. Is this not slightly hypocritical? You want less cars to help the environment (which I agree but not the measures you're suggesting) however, you'd like a fast fashion shop on the Lane?
  3. According to Friends Of PR, it was acknowledged the flood defences wouldn't be started for some months yet and so Gala has been moved back into the park sunbob Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It looks like it is going to be in the park after > all (not on the common). 5. I really hope your dog gets better soon. I can't image how scary it is for you right now BillyOcean Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > My dog was admitted this morning......... > I am hoping she will be okay........ > > Terrible few days. > > The vet and receptionist did suggest there was a > nasty bug going around..... > > > Thank you for all your help and advice.
  6. My dog has had it as well. No vomiting but passing blood clots and not herself. Course of antibiotics seemed to have sorted her. Apparently, they pick the bug up from the ground. Vet told us nearly every dog they're seeing currently has this bug. My friend's dog has just had a second visit to the vet as still refusing to eat. He's been given an appetite stimulant. I guess, like humans, the bug can manifest itself differently in different dogs.
  7. Problem is there is simply no soundproofing in victorian conversions. I'm on the ground floor and the hear everything from my upstairs neighbours. They are adults but 4 of them. They are incredible considerate but I hear their TV, conversations etc. There doesn't have to be that much noise for it to be a disturbance, especially when you've become finely tuned to it. My kids have all grown up now but it is quite hard to keep little ones quiet, especially in the mornings. Years ago, I lived in another victorian conversion with the same soundproofing issues. The upstairs neighbours had a small child who ran into his parent's bedroom (above my room) at 5am every morning and the squealing, charging around commenced. We reached a compromise, that they would do their best to keep things quite until 7am and this was a struggle for them but they really tried their best. I think 7am for young children is reasonable for them to make some noise. With my own children, I would quieten them but they forget within a few minutes at that age. I do understand your difficulty and annoyance but I think its part of living in built up areas.
  8. My daughter's bf is a delivery driver and they do have 200 plus parcels and have 2 minutes to deliver each parcel. They're timed and get under a ?1 per delivery. Any parcels not delivered are returned to the depot for them to re-deliver the following day. This will be in addition to that days 200 plus parcels. I'm not condoning leaving parcels in full view whatsoever and some do make an effort. However, I also understand the ridiculous pressure the drivers are under. They're not treated great by their employers either
  9. Trev has painted the outside of my house as well as rooms inside. I echo what's been said above and he will always be my go to person. really reasonable rates and a lovely guy
  10. There's one open in Brockley (on the main road) and another around the back of Forest hill station
  11. Dan has just fitted a new outside Ariel and cable. Really quick service and he kindly gave me advice regarding networks and other measures to increase the effectiveness of our wi-fi. No bushy sales and a genuinely nice guy. I would definitely recommend and will use them again.
  12. I've seen James in their over the past week and assumed he was getting ready to open. Their Facebook page says they've updated their telephone number and is 02086131593.

I don't think they had just run out as the receptionist asked if I'd received a text. The centre was extremely quiet with a few in the same boat as me and a few getting their Astrazeneca vaccine. for me, it's no big deal having to return next Sunday but I imagine for some who have mobility issues or need to organise childcare, it'd be good just to check. I'm hopeful they will have sufficient supplies in
  14. I had an appointment at TJ this morning for my 2nd Pfizer vaccine and arrived to be told they had run out. Rescheduled for next Sunday but if anyone has an appointment in the next couple of days, it might be worth checking before leaving home.
