  1. Hello, We need a job done in the two weeks starting 21st May, but our existing builder now can't do it. We want to create two new doorways (one which was filled in, one where the gap needs to be narrowed) and install sliding doors over them. There are a number of other jobs (a couple of shelves elsewhere, bit of plastering) but they are the main ones. Can anyone recommend someone to step into the breach? Thanks, B
  2. Hello, I've gathered a few different kinds of apples from those interested in swapping them in the local area, so if anyone else has some apples they would like to exchange this year so they don't have a glut of a single variety do let me know. Ben
  3. Hi there, I live just off Bellenden road and am really interested in local apples, having just planted my own backyard orchard this spring. If you're from the Dulwich/Peckham area and happen to have a tree or two in your garden or allotment I'd love to exchange some of your apples for some of the other apples I'm able to gather this autumn. Let me know. Ben
  4. Well, theres a couple of websites that help here: http://www.applename.com/id.aspx here: http://www.fruitid.com/#identification/1 and here: http://www.gardenappleid.co.uk Or if you're keen to come on the 16th I've a big book of varieties that we could use to have a go. Let me know.
  5. Hello, Are you interested in local and rare* apples? Or do you have an apple tree in your back garden in Dulwich and Peckham? I'm planning to bring together anyone in our area interested in apples, particularly those fortunate enough to have an apple tree in their back garden. The idea is to cherish our apple heritage by sharing, comparing and celebrating either the different varieties grown right here in our corner of south east London, or rare varieties from elsewhere. It would be on a date in October, provisionally the 16th. If you're interested please send me a message. Ben *ie any but the very narrow selection of ever sweeter varieties found in supermarkets.
  6. And another recommendation for Steve. Fast, efficient, and all fixed. Also gave me some tips on how to get the dishwasher working better in future!
  7. Another shout out to Steve, who didn't charge for taking a look at our clapped out old washing machine. Couldn't be faulted for not fixing it (the motherboard had blown).
