  1. Hi,

Baby Skip is now 8 months old; the buggy is taking up the entire boot and killing my back; so I figure it is time to get a stoller. Any tips on which one to get? Features to look for? Ideally could go on a plane in the overhead locker, and be light and compact for the car. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks, Skip.

  2. Hi,

I've got a Stokke Trip Trap high chair and my son seems comfortable whilst feeding in it. I do not use the harness and feel that it is safe to use without it. I have however read that falls are the main source of hospital visits for babies/toddlers and that you should therefore use a harness on your high chair. What do you think? Do you have this chair and has your child fallen out of it, climbed out and fallen without a harness on? I'd be keen to hear of your experiences. Thanks, Skip.

  3. Register now and decide later. You will miss out on a place and not have the option of deciding. Brierly only take a certain number/month, and you have to register very early.

I don't believe any mid-wife from the practices you mention would 'desert you'.

I was with Brierly, started a home birth, got rushed to Kings due to unexptected complications and my mid-wife stayed with me throughout. They are good to have with you to assist in pushing back against intervention which you may not want/or that may not be necessary.

    Goodluck.

  4. Yes, I've gone quiet. The vitriole that this thread has generated has disappointed and shocked me.

I was seeking the experiences of others to assist in enabling me to make an informed decision about the care of my child. What parent wouldn't want to be well informed about the pros and cons of injecting foreign matter into their newborn? I would have thought that being a conscientious and concerned parent was a good thing!

  5. Health visitor advised us to have this done before flying due to the recylced air on planes. Anyone know how long after the injection you are considered protected? Is it immediate, or is there a lag time for it to take effect.
  6. Not always the case. Over summer I went to Norwood B and Q thinking that their Hammerite paint would be cheaper, but turned out to be about 40% more than the little DIY shop you mention. Depends on the item I guess, but decided from then on that it was worth supporting the local store, especially as I'm time poor, and they give you good service.
