I?m rather late to the conversation but my child has had excellent support at Kingsdale. Her difficulties have only become evident in the last year and she has no diagnosis yet but the school immediately stepped up and put various elements of support in place.

Surely it?s cheaper to just pay up. They?d have to be exceptional to make a case for speeding twice past a fixed camera where the whole borough is a 20mph zone.

One of mine has always cycled, meeting up with a group of her friends at the library before heading across the park. The other originally took the P13, then the 363/Rock Hill route. Since Covid she?s been walking, which takes about the same time as the bus. Cycling?s definitely quickest, and with pannier bags or a basket they?re not lugging their bags quite as far which I?m sure is better for their backs.

Another fan here. We?ve been on Dunstans for about 12 years, first renting, then we bought. It?s in a fantastic position (I?d add One Tree Hill and Horniman gardens to the green spaces list. They?re both only 15 minutes walk.) The Forest Hill Road shops/pubs/cafes are great and include a post office and two pharmacies, so we have all the essentials without needing to go to Lordship Lane or Peckham. There?s even street food stalls on Saturdays. Who needs Northcross Road! Oh and the best hairdresser in ED as well. School traffic can be a nightmare on the middle stretch but that only affects you if you?re trying to drive anywhere yourself at that time. The rest of the day the traffic?s fine. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare a times, but that?s London, not just Dunstans Road. Hope you decide to join us.

My two kids (very different personalities) have both done well and been happy at Kingsdale. Their art department is particularly good but the art scholarships are dealt with slightly differently from the maths/sport/music ones. They?re not used for admission and can be applied for in year 7. And admissions (including most of those who get offered scholarships) are just by lottery so I really wouldn?t bother with tutoring.

If not getting off and pushing across a pedestrian crossing, I?d say that the easiest access is to turn right out of Whatley and then down Blackwater. The pelican crossing gives you the opportunity to move out onto a clear road (and if there?s no-one there to activate it you can hop off your bike and press the button yourself. I can?t think of another point where there?s a light activated crossing close enough to a junction, or that doesn?t have traffic approaching from another road. You could also turn left out of Whateley but that has the added complication of the bus stop and cars being released by the lights coming up behind you as you wait to turn right into Melbourne. Probably the safest place to cross over in the other direction though.

We were referred to Orchard Orthodontics in Brixton. We?d prepared ourselves to be upsold to something expensive, but they didn?t even try and the braces have cost us nothing.

Many years back someone on the forum posted that someone had tried to knock him off his bike with a scaffolding pole, after dark in Burgess. Since then I?ve avoided cycling through any park or on any off road route when it?s dark. I?d rather stick to the roads where I can be seen.

I think she meant he was mislaid, not dead, but maybe I?m wrong... I?m always amazed when I see parents cycling ahead of often quite small children. I always took a position behind and slightly to the outside - if anyone was going to be knocked off I?d rather it was me.

I would have thought the main issue for the school is the traffic/dodgy parking on Dunstans. The council?s proposal would have probably made that worse, while requiring staff man hours to manage the temporary closure. I?m not surprised they didn?t go for it. I live on Dunstans and think closure at this end of Goodrich (if at the very end, not at the narrowing) could reduce some of the most dangerous manoeuvres on the roundabout. It?s also likely to reduce traffic slightly, but is likely to funnel most of it down to Underhill instead.

I?d advise contacting ACAS in the first instance (https://www.acas.org.uk/contact). They can give advice and help resolve disputes with employers. It should definitely be your first port of call before taking any legal action.

Same here, Lordship. I made some wonderful finds at the ED Warehouse. There are plenty of other cafes and plenty of other bakeries in the area, but nothing like the warehouse around any more.
