  1. If anyone knows the owner of this card please DM me and I’ll return it. Cheers.
  2. I have lived on RPH for at least a decade. I fought the new 42 but it is quiet and regular and one day may be of use to me, like some of the other, admittedly older, residents round here. I use the 37 and p4 regularly and it was part of the appeal of buying here. (not to mention the schools these days!) I don't have double glazing and don't hear or feel the buses. I feel the benefit of having a large Gardens at the back of most of the houses on RPH counterbalances the supposed noise and intrusion of the buses at the front.
  3. I believe that this has been considered as part of the road changes that were made prior to the consultation. Which is why the consultation by TFL has been such a sham. It's really not the right road for all these big buses.
  4. Sadly, this is going ahead despite the Red Post Hill residents not being consulted in writing and submitting a petition from the residents stating that we do not want double deckers. They have given a spurious reason for the new routing because of tree preservation orders on Sunray avenue, to which we are also subject. This has very much been pushed through against our wishes and actions. Even Helen Hayes has petitioned TFL to change the route and they sadly haven't listened to her either...
  5. If you are worried give the office a call on 020 7274 2520. They will be able to help.
  6. Hello and Congratulations on getting into Bessemer. It's a lovely school and I hope you children will be very happy there. There is a welcome message from Bessrmer Grange PTA F@B on the board. This gives the details of the New Joiners Picnic which will help you meet some of your children's class and hopefully will put your children at ease before the big day. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,1666120 I hope that helps, if not please email [email protected] who will help. Regards, Amy
  7. Hi, Both my boys are at Bessemer Grange. The school has a lovely ethos and has been a great nurturing and learning environment for them. We often bump into their friends on the walk to school and it is reassuring for me to get to know their friends and their parents. There are lots of opportunities to see the children having fun during the F@B (PTA) events, like the picnic and the ice cream fridays in the nature garden, the summer and winter fairs. I hope that all those families who have been lucky to get a place come and join the welcome picnic, it is really great for the children to meet up so the first day isn't quite so nerve-wracking. Congratulations! Amy
  8. Running double deckers down an unsuitable street which has a traffic jam twice a day is a terrible idea. there was another crash at the top of the road recently because it's not well designed. Heavy loads should go on A roads and that's it really. Poor planning, really lacking comms, railroading through decisions made on a whim without evidence and then not listening to residents. TFL and Southwark just seem to work to their own agenda.
  9. As another resident of Red Post Hill, I would much prefer we have less of the large traffic. The road was not built and has not been maintained in any way to support this level of heavy traffic. In the last decade I have seen the traffic situation on Red Post Hill get steadily worse until now we have gridlock twice a day whilst buses and lorries try and negotiate their way up the road. Often leading to shouting matches and road rage. It is madness to route more regular traffic on this road especially large buses. I feel like the route extension is great news and have no issues with it, however I do take exception to the new routing via Red Post Hill.
  10. Hi, Is there a quick way to see all my threads? I want to update them but seem to need to scroll through the forum or search for them. Am I missing something? Regards Amaryllis
  11. We were on with KFH and they did a fabulous job for us. No complaints here. They were helpful, patient and excellent at keeping us updated. They were very straightforward and I was grateful for their help in what could have been a stressful process. Perhaps it depends on the office that you are using?
  12. They have put in a request for planning to Southwark for 4 houses. It was rejected. I can't remember why. It was the vicarage for St Faiths and has been boarded up for a couple of years.
  13. I live on the Sunray estate, which you may be surprised to know is also owned by the Dulwich estate. As far as I know they do not contribute to Bessemer Grange, DVIS, Hamlet, Judith Kerr or the charter school; all of which have been built to serve Dulwich and it's surrounds. To me this feels like an injustice. I don't understand the legal framework but I agree that morally, someone who set up an educational foundation "for locals" would feel like their purpose had been lost in time. It's a pity and if there was the will we should bring the estate to account. Edward Alleyn set up the trust, quite clearly, in a different age but in the 21C the support given to locals should be much greater. On the flip side I feel the local schools should demand more of Alleys, Jags and Dulwich college. If they don't ask they won't get usage of the facilities but they need to feel like equivalents at the table not underdogs. I love Dulwich, the schools are fantastic and we should encourage them to work together more not build up barriers. It makes Dulwich better for all of us, children and parents alike.
  14. I've just read that the bulge year has moved into Dulwich Hamlet. So does that mean DVIS will bulge this year? Does anyone know?
