  1. Hi - I would like to recommend my former cleaner Tom. He was unstintingly reliable, trustworthy and just great with cleaning and ironing for the five and a half years I lived in my old flat in central East Dulwich. He was definitely the best ?30 I spent every fortnight and I used to come home and immediately feel happier the days he had been. I suspect he would be prepared to get to most places in and around S E London. I've moved on now so am recommending him instead - just text 07427 139398 - and say you saw this from Ed (he's expecting it!).
  2. Did you get someone to help? I?ve got the same problem! Thanks :)
  3. Hi - in the road near the bus stop outside the George Canning pub - ie the stop everyone is using while the main stop outside DH is closed, have found an American Express card. Let me know if it?s yours and if you haven?t cancelled it yet and want to collect from Crystal Palace Road. Otherwise will destroy...
  4. Update - it was fine and is at the ED sorting office. Apparently they had someone working overtime who must have used the wrong cards...
  5. I've got home to one of the normal "we've got something for you" red cards from the post office - something which requires a signature, and on the back the card says to collect in Anerley... I knew the ED office was under threat - is this for real?! Do I really need to trek down there or have they just used the wrong card? Anyone with similar experience and advice v gratefully received before I ruin my Saturday morning...
  6. Very happy to endorse Andy and Rich too - they came round within a couple of days and put up two curtain poles/tracks with very little fuss. All very helpful and straight-forward.
  7. Can anyone help with this, this week please?
  8. Just another shout out for Matt - he has removed some decking for me with no fuss (despite it turning into quote a tricky job) and was cheerful and laid back throughout. I'd definitely ask him to come round again.
  9. Where's the squash court in ED mentioned here please?
  10. Anyone around on Tuesday in central SE22 to help with a curtain pole in a bay window? It's already fixed but not working properly... I think I've identified the problem but need help sorting it out. Needs to be Tuesday daytime please.
  11. Surely someone who works at the surgery, or even be responsible for, must read this forum? So why do they never defend themselves or apologise? Shocking behaviour all round - it makes me really cross!
  12. Just resurrecting this thread to recommend Terry Malone (www.terrymalone.co.uk). He made some book cases and units for my front room and built in wardrobe for the bedroom. He also laid a wooden floor and hung internal doors. Everything was done really well - he understood what I was after, gave me good advice and was ever so patient while I made up my mind. He never made me think my questions were invalid and he was totally reliable doing the work while I was away. An excellent find on here (thanks to a previous recommendation) who I'd more than happily ask to do more in the future.
  13. I can completely endorse these recommendations for Nico - he phoned and came round within the hour on bank holiday Monday and then again tonight to do the work. Very friendly, helpful and reasonable cost. I'll definitely keep him in mind for other jobs and would recommend others do the same.
  14. Hi - does anyone know whether B&Q will do a sale over the bank holiday weekend? I could do with going to get some stuff for my new flat and would love to get a discount... but guess I could wait a while longer if anyone knows?
  15. Isn't Saturday the 29th? Do you mean that or Sunday 30th? I'd be interested if its the Saturday...
  16. I'm looking into laying a solid wooden floor (on top of the existing boards) and have found shops who will sell and fit it but that seems expensive, so I'm wondering who is out there / recommended who could lay it if I buy it from, for example, Homebase? Recommendations very gratefully received.
  17. Yes you are both right - it was a leak from upstairs (not my flat!) so need something or someone to treat it and make good...
  18. Hi I've just moved into a ground floor flat and found more damp on the ceiling of the bathroom (which is below a first floor kitchen) to be much worse than when I first saw the flat a few months ago. Can anyone recommend a good local firm to investigate and then treat it? Cheers.
