  1. The community safety team was in North Cross market and there was a good turnout - thanks to everyone for turning up and making it a success. For those people who weren't able to attend, they still want to hear about your experiences of harrassment in Southwark... please fill in the online questionaire by going to https://forms.southwark.gov.uk/ShowForm.asp?fm_fid=1143&np=1
  2. The police lobbying campaign is to get more police back on the streets of Southwark and we are aiming to get people to sign our online petition at https://www.change.org/p/the-mayor-of-london-increase-police-numbers-in-southwark
  3. Oops! I did not pick up your post - I was not using the search correctly...I will forward your comment though, to my colleagues who are doing consultation work on the new Southwark Plan. Thanks a lot for posting!
  4. Once again, the councillors will be discussing the matters of the borough, at Harris Academy, Peckham on 27 November. They will also be debating about Local Business and Enterprise in Southwark. Do you have a comment to post which I can report back to the Councillors? Here are a couple of questions you could consider... - what activities or projects would you like to see more of in town centres and high streets to help them grow and thrive? - how can the residents and the council work together to make better places that help business flourish?
  5. Thank you, I appreciate your comments - biologically diverse means to me, that there are more varities of plants, and that the birds and wildlife are starting to come back - sparrows, for instance, especially when people are more aware of letting some wildflowers grow in their plant pots.
  6. I work for Southwark council, and regularly seek out opinions from the public about issues which will be included in the topics of debate in their Council Assembly, which is open to Southwark residents to attend. Next month, they are going to talk about Sustainable tansport and the environment. Is there anything you would like to talk about with me on that subject? I have a few questions for you - What would encourage you to walk and cycle more? Do you think Southwark is more biologically diverse than it was 10 years ago? What do Southwark's parks mean to you?
  7. Hi, I work with the Community Participation team at Southwark Council, and would like to make some conversation with the people on this forum from time to time about council items which could give some good feedback on here, if I may. Another Council Assembly - the full meeting of all the ward councillors in Southwark - will take place on 10 July, at Walworth Academy on Shorncliffe Road (the street opposite Tesco's on the Old Kent Road) . The debate for the assembly will be on Welfare Reform. At the main business meeting, the councillors debate an issue that's of particular relevance to people across the borough - in this case welfare reform - and to ensure that they have a strong sense of 'what the people think' we compile a dossier of 'community views' which is circulated to all councillors in advance of the meeting. As part of this process, discussion forums like yours have proved to be a rich source of comment and opinion, and I am asking for these now - for example: - are you aware of any help (advice) offered by other agencies, in Southwark or elsewhere? How easy was it to get this information? You can post your views here and they'll be captured that way, or you can email them to [email protected] When the process is complete we'll share a link to the final dossier of community views. Here's what the most recent one looked like, for the debate on Crime and Anti-social behaviour on 27 March: http://moderngov.southwarksites.com/documents/s36594/Community%20Views%20on%20the%20Theme%20-%20Crime%20and%20Anti-social%20behaviour.pdf
