  3. Hello East Dulwich! It's been a hectic 12 days since we opened! We've been overwhelmed with the response and the positive feedback. It's also been great to finally meet some of our locals, even The Revd Canon Charles Richardson popped in to give us a little blessing. In general we couldn't be happier with the response and the good will from our neighbours. That said we have read and discussed all the comments raised here on the EDF and noted the feedback from our customers during their visits. So we're going to make a few changes. No 30p charge for barbecue sauce, mayo etc... Bigger portions of chips (our kitchen porter didn't take this news well) As of Monday you can run tabs We will review our walk in policy at a later date. Also to confirm YES CAMRA & CAMRGB members do get 10% discount on all cask ales (beard or no beard) as long as they have a valued membership card. We really wanted to have a very laid back pub atmosphere here at The Flying Pig hence the no reservations. Also a quick note about the pricing of the beer. Yes we have beer that is ?6 a pint. Even ?7 or ?8+ but these are 1 off kegs and as the sign above the door states we're a craft beer pub. A lot of our beer is imported from the states on special request. We aim to stock rare and hard to find beers from all over the world. Sadly these come at a premium. We do however sell our house lager (Freedom Four) at ?4 a pint. Camden US Hells and Wit come in at ?4.20 as does our stout. We sell the vast majority of our cask ale for less than ?3.90 a pint, with a CAMRA card that's ?3.51 so where possible we're very competitive. We sell all cask and keg beers in pints, halves and thirds and will happily let you try the beer before you buy it. We're also happy for you guys to recommend some beers! So if there's anything you'd like us to get in please let one of the team know. Regards Mark Sprules General Manager The Flying Pig & John Murray Head Chef The Flying Pig
  4. Thanks Boswell, I've contacted google and told them of the hic up! It's my old pub. For some reason it's connected to my email address and not the pubs. Hopefully get that changed soon.

  6. Hello EDF! Well, it gives me great pleasure in announcing our grand opening! Monday 26th August! Yes Bank Holiday Monday so you have no excuse not to come along and see what we've been up to. Doors open at midday. We'll have 18 draught beers on plus 100's of wacky bottles from ever corner of the globe! John will be in the kitchen and we'll have the BBQ cranked up to 11. Looking forward to serving you guys on the day and in the future! See you at the bar!
  7. Hi guys, sorry for the lack of info. Builders are due to hand over at the end of the month barring any last minute delays. We still have a lot of work to do back of house and training staff etc. We're looking to open mid to late August. Once I have a confirmed date I'll let you know. In the mean time please follow us on Twitter @TheFlying_Pig and Instagram search The Flying Pig London. We're recruiting now so if anyone is interested in working at the FP please email CVs to [email protected] Regards Mark
  8. The Flying Pig are looking for a local ED man in a van to help out for a few days.
  9. Bloonoo - As soon as we can! builder are in and working hard. Have a lot to do and should have a better idea in a few weeks. End of July is what we're aiming for.
  10. Thanks Fishbiscuits! I love a good Q&A session! YEP ribs (pork and beef), beef & chicken burgers, steaks, cornbread, waffles, buffalo wings, brisket, etc... but we're not all about barbecuing meats. we'll have a great selection of freshly made salads and veggie dishes with other interesting dishes that should mean we have something for everyone. I've been tasting a lot of them recently and can honestly say everyone in East Dulwich is in for a proper treat. We have a very passionate and talent chef on board. Desserts YES! I'll need to speak to chef about these. Beer - We'll have 12 keg and 6 cask, most of these will change frequently. We will have some regulars but that's up to the ED crowd to decide. If you guys drink more of something then we'll keep it on. we're really aiming for a good local pub vibe and to keep you guys well fed and watered. Expect lots of interesting beers. Still deciding on total number of tables but we'll make sure it feels like a pub and not a restaurant.
  11. Not sure about putting them on the tables but we will have them readily available, along with baby wipes.
  12. Hello ED forum! Hope you're all well and good! I've been hearing a lot of gossip and hearsay locally and would like to give you all the opportunity to ask me (Mark) the General Manager of The Flying Pig any questions that you might have or if you would just like to know more about the project. So please feel free to ask!
