Last chance before Christmas to pick up some beer direct from the brewery. We'll be open 12-5pm with the usual selection of bottles, and also gift packs, bags and T-shirts for last minute presents. I am cleaning down the brewery so if you don't see me immediately I'm probably inside a vessel with a brush! Clarkshaws Microbrewery in East Dulwich, is celebrating its first birthday by opening its doors on Sunday 21st September for tours and a chance to try its beers on site or to take away, matched with Sardinian charcuterie and cheeses from Capo Caccia Fine Foods, handcrafted artisan pasta from Pastificio Mansi, and dips and dishes from the award winning Avocado Caf?. The ?Peckham People?s Pint?, a green hop beer made from hops grown by the local community, will be exclusively available on the day. Green hop beer is a seasonal beer, made only once a year, using hops within 24 hours of harvesting. Clarkshaws beer gelato from Gelateria 3 BIS of Borough Market will also be available. Join us for a party from 12.00-20.00, with live music from local bands, a pop-up market with stalls from other local traders, and kids? entertainment with a storyteller and face painting. Calling all local hop growers - we're going to make a green hop beer, using freshly harvested hops from the local area and we have room for a few more local growers to join in. If you have hops growing in your garden and you want your hops turned into beer, get in touch. Hello all, thanks for the feedback and words of support. I didn't realise that Facebook was so inaccessible so the website will be updated in the coming days to map where you can find us, or certainly to where we have delivered to recently! At the moment, as well as the Herne, we should be on at the Cherry Tree by East Dulwich station and the Harp near St. Martins-in-the-Fields / Trafalgar square. We're still getting our beer into pubs so this list should get longer in time. Thanks again Ian

Dear EDF'ers, My partner and I have just received confirmation from our installers that our brewing plant will be ready for us by the end of July so we should have our first brews fermenting away soon in our little brewery off Tyrrell Road, SE22. All our beers are going to be hopped using varieties sourced only from the UK and we're also trying very hard to have full traceability of all our ingredients from face all the way back to farm. We won't be using isinglass to fine our beer to make it veggie friendly. Indeed, we hope to be the first micro in London to have all our products accredited by the Vegetarian Society. If any EDF'ers are of an artistic bent, we would like to have a chat with you as we want to showcase some local artwork in our label and clip designs.
