  1. Well done to all the parents, children and teachers who visited the picket lines this morning. Rest assured no one was intimidated. Muffins were shared, flags were waved and our teachers were supported in asking for a fair wage. Which given they help shape our children’s future seems like the least we can do really.
  2. Amazing clinic! You I have never had a bad treatment here I find Will Westwood to be an excellent, sensitive and very effective osteopath. He treats my back regularly but also has hugely aided in treating anxiety and stress. I have used Ravi for Crainal SAcral work and Deborah for Accupuncture both give excellent treatments and I must say I find goose green clinic to be an absolute life saver if you prefer a more holistic approach to health and well-being!
  3. How have I not see this before... will be there n to eat everything next week!
  4. Hello, I'm looking for a piano teacher to come to my hous to help me re-learn piano! Can any one recommend someone, also I'm on abit of a budget. Thanks in advance! X
  5. I just wanted to recommend Sean for general handy man jobs & garden clearence. He's worked really hard for 2 days to jet wash our patio area, clear all the veg beds and rescue a very over grown green house. As well as painting my shed which looks lovely. We are very happy with his work and will be having him back again!
  6. Yes I need my garden clearing on Friday ... how much do you charge? Also may have a load of flat pack to put together if I manage to clear the room. Thanks Ali.
  7. Have you thought about the women's shelters, often when women and children are re located they have very little with them.
  8. Haha, I'm so glad we're all hoping for an infestation in my home!
  9. I'm sorry to sound rude but let's all get real, building in east dulwich really does not elevate the housing shortage given the rising house prices. It's not the people that can afford a ?500,000 plus property that are suffering it's the many young people that can't afford to get on the property ladder / families living in houses too small because that extra bedroom is just a financial stretch too far and the many people living in substandard buildings, sharing rooms because that's all they can afford that are effected by housing shortages. I think high quality Eco builds are a great step forward for the environment but not under the guise of affordable housing nor by back land grabbing.
  10. Hi, we live opposite no. 30 and some doors down from no.21. I have or will be objecting to both builds my reason being we initially purchased our house because of the green space (our gardens and the surrounding) we are not over looked, we are surrounded by wonderfully mature fruit trees and have lots of birds, bees, butterflies and toads (no idea where these come from) living in our garden. I firmly believe over development of our back lands will absolutely negatively impact our wild life and our wellbeing. I have no issue with homes using a small portion of their garden to extend as is the norm in ED but I genuinely feel very uncomftable about being surrounded by back land development which is a real possibility not to mention the negative impact on house prices going from a previously private garden to am over looked on. No.30 is in need of a tidy up and modernisation however as previously stated taking a 2 bed house and turning that in to 4 x 2 bed flats does smack of over crowding and over development with no consideration to the many young families that have chosen to live on a quiet street with large surrounding green areas.
  11. Hi All, whilst it's not the same plot I thought it may be of interest that number 30 hindmans road has submitted planning permission for the existing house to be torn down and 2 flats to replace that building followed by 2 further flats in the back garden. As there is a drive way I don't think access will be an issue this time however it's a major concern as not only does this increase parking issues but also possible precedence for back land development.
  12. I have to say I'm also really hopeful, ED has a close knit community that are committed to keeping our green spaces just that. I really don't think they will get planning permission as long as people stay on top of the proposals. It's a totally inappropriate space for development and I genuinely feel as long as strong objections are communicated and our green spaces are shown to be of community interest we do stand a good chance of stopping garden grabbing!
  13. I live on Hindmans road and of course object massively to the development of the back garden in to any sort of dwelling but I have to say I also have the feeling that the planning application was with drawn because the developers realised it would be a flat out no, and will re-submit. The fact they began to prep the site by chopping down the trees leads me to believe they will continue to try to develop the site. Also number 36 Hindmans road has been purchased for re-development and when the estate agents were selling it, it was very much touted as a possible 2 dwelling site so we may actually see another submission for something similar. Fingers crossed neither go through as I hadn't intended on living on a building site, given the currently development of the garages opposite no. 21!
  14. Hi! I actually live in Hindmans road near the development and whilst I was super concerned that this may set a precidence for some of the semi - detached housed selling off the land as the gardens are long what has not been pointed out is that the house that is being turned in to 2 flats has lost some but not much of its garden and the space in the back was in fact privatly owned garages and a yard which was not a green space but a concreet area. If you go to southwark council you can view the houses being buit (well a 3d representation of them), they are eco friendly (or thats the angle being pushed) they are not ugly and whilst I understand the concern I have followed this closley from the beginning and I was quite worried... Im now fairly confident it it utalising a dead space.
