  1. Overgrown hedge needs a good neat crop (top & sides). Also bit of weeding/ tidy up on the steps. N Dulwich / Herne Hill You'll need to bring your own ladders, tools, brush. 3 hrs tops. Thanks
  2. Hi I'm looking for a quality and reliable painter / decorator for a family home in Herne Hill. Mainly internal eg. couple of ceilings, skirting boards, walls, but also external work if you can do it - front door, window frames (ground level) and gable if possible. Fast turnaround job and willing to pay. If you're available in the next couple of weeks and have references please get in touch. Thanks Cath
  3. Hi I had the same problem 18mths ago with a slow leak on an old roof and it took me AGES to find a company that would quote and do the work for a reasonable price. I found McCann Roofing on this forum - worth a call, they did a great job for me. They also didn't need to erect scaffolding and all that pullava. They're in Woolwich I think.. Simon 07938006508 02037323418
  4. Great work from Saied at Dulwich Eco Gardening this week - he's replaced an uneven, unloved and muddy patch of lawn with beautiful new turf and even though I've organised this from afar with him I never doubted for a moment that it would be a great job on time and to budget. I found him yeas ago on this forum and his recommendations are totally justified. You too will be lucky that you found him!
  5. We've been calling Saied for help with our garden over the last couple of years now. He's always reliable, honest, really knowledgeable and hard working and I wouldn't trust anyone else. If you need a wonderful job doing in your garden give him a call! (and did I mention that he always does a great job of clearing away after his works?) Highly recommended - we've already booked him for his next visit!
  6. I can recommend William - I had some ridiculous quotes for general gardening work but he works for a reasonable hourly rate & does a good job. I found him on the EDF where others had recommended him. You don't have to wait 3 weeks for him and we've had him over a few times now and he always leaves it looking great. He's on 07428 725907
  7. I paid a bit more but I only wanted a one off clean for two bins. Excellent quick service - they came round the same morning (of course I'd left it to bin emptying day to call) & both bins totally spruced up. (previously in a very bad way post-summer) Can recommend Solomon on 07946 293559 (forget the company but I found them on EDF)
  8. I'm also recommending Simon and Shaun from McCann roofing - great job just finished on two roof areas. Trustworthy, reliable, no-nonsense and completed all work tidily and on time. McCann Roofing Services 10 Meadow Lane Amblecote Road London SE12 9TE 07938006508/02037323418 ps. Of the two other roofing companies well recommended on EDF? One came in at twice the price and one never returned my calls for a quote.
  9. Small garden - needs a tidy up, lawn cutting. 3 hours works max - Herne Hill / N Dulwich SE24. Please pm if you're interested Thanks
  10. Hi - we're in the park now - are you running the class today? We can't find you! Thanks
  11. No surly (or drunk) staff on my visit today - I took my two boys in here for the first time and I was amazed at how patient our lady was in the face of a screaming, reluctant 2 year old that wouldn't even sit in the chair. She never gave up on him and after 20mins when he'd calmed down and got used to the place she did a good job of cutting his hair with me standing up holding him in my arms distracting him with a dinosaur & the screen. Gold star for perseverance. Two cuts in 30mins plus toys, tv and lollies - my 7 yr old's looks great (every bit as good as GK barbers on Melbourne where we normally go) but the real prize? My 2 yr old got the haircut he's needed for a year and we've hopefully removed some of the trauma of hairdressers for him. One grateful customer.
  12. Once again reliable Saied has come to the rescue of my little unloved garden. He's pruned, weeded, cutback, planted bulbs and fetched a new tree for me. All in a few hours and I can look out and smile at the garden again. Did I mention he tidies up after himself like a demon and brings organic apples from his allotment for my children?! If you need a pre-winter spruce up give him a call - you won't find a lovelier harder-working gardener.
  13. Basically Lambeth plan to remove all funding for Carnegie as a library and lease the building as a commercial gym to Greenwich Leisure. They have specified that there should be a "small selection of books available in a lounge area" but there will no functioning library or staff on the site. If you'd like to read more details here is a good link: http://indulwich.co.uk/ And the petition (not just for Lambeth residents to sign as it states) to save this wonderful library is here: http://moderngov.lambeth.gov.uk/mgEPetitionDisplay.aspx?id=379
  14. Thanks - have just sent email and some photos in to the parks team and Rebecca.
