  1. Looking forward to seeing some of you tomorrow for tea and cake at Chandelier at 3pm!
  2. How about Chandelier on LL? 3pm? Let me know if that doesn't suit, I am flexible on time and place. I will also ask the girls on FB to see if anyone fancies coming
  3. How about Wednesday afternoon Philippa (and anyone else who fancies joining us)?
  4. Hi Philippa, I finish work this Friday, can't wait! Maybe we should try to arrange a week-day meet up next week, we could go for tea and cake again!
  5. Saied has now finished the initial clear out of my garden. he worked hard, and it looks much tidier and neater now. he also brought me some apples he had grown on his allotment, and a couple of plants to start me off with my new garden. I will be asking him to come back to do some planting and general maintenance. Thanks Saied.
  6. Hi there Winter Mums-to-be, I have reserved a table at Blue Mountain Cafe on Northcross Road for 3pm on Sunday 24th Nov, looking forward to seeing you there if you can make it. Hope everyone's feeling well K
  7. Saied has been working in my garden this week, and has already cleared an enormous amount of weeds, dead plants, roots and general rubbish, and is getting the soil ready for planting flowers. He has worked really hard, and has given me some good advice about what to plant and when, and how to maintain the garden myself. I am looking forward to seeing the finished product. Thank you Saied.
  8. Hi there, We are organising a Sunday meet-up - at the moment 24th November seems to be the most popular date. Will post on here once details are confirmed. Some of the mums-to-be who are already on leave are trying to organise a weekday meet-up as well. Details on FB, but I'm sure they will post on here to ensure non-FB users aren't left out!
  9. Thank you all for your tips, very helpful. I got the 7.37 this morning, and it was just as full, so I'm going to try the post 9am ones next to see if they're any better. I will continue my quest for a quieter train, as even if a kind soul does give up their seat, it is just generally unpleasant and stressful to cram onto a train with people bashing into your bump with their bags and umbrellas (unintentionally, it can't be helped on a busy train) And a big thank you to everyone who offers their seat to a pregnant lady - it really is very much appreciated!!!
  10. I would be grateful for any advice on which trains from Denmark Hill to the City are the busiest during rush hour (so I can avoid them)? I am pregnant and finding the morning commute from Denmark Hill to City Thameslink really difficult when the trains are busy and I can't get a seat (I normally get the 8.39 or 8.45). So I am looking at changing my working hours so I start earlier or later, to enable me to miss the worst of the rush hour, and have a chance of getting a seat on the train (I know its only a short journey, but really uncomfortable with a bump!). If I get the 7.37 from Denmark Hill, is that one usually crammed? What about the 8.04? If I leave it until 9.19, would that be any better? I'd be really grateful to hear your experiences Many thanks
  11. I would like to recommend Mr Scratch who came out this week to fix a long scratch that I had managed to put in my brand new glass dining table. Ben came out the same day I contacted him, was very friendly, polite, and tidy, and my dining table looks like new. I got 3 quotes, and Mr Scratch was the first to respond, and cheaper than the others. I am very pleased with the service I received and would highly recommend. I think they also repair metal and stone surfaces.
  12. I will also be there tomorrow and will be on the look out for other ladies with bumps ! See you tomorrow at 3 pm
  13. Hello ladies, I am not able to make it on Saturday, but am very much looking forward to meeting many of you on 6th October.
  14. I haven't been to any classes at Push, but have been to prenatal Pilates (tues 7pm) and prenatal yoga ( thurs 7pm) both at esph, and really enjoyed both. Have also been to the yoga room in the gardens (mon and thurs at 8pm) and can recommend that as a very relaxing class! Had 22 week scan today and all well, which makes it all seem a bit more real!
  15. TheShelleys- I am due the day after you, I am also a first timer! I was just looking at NCT classes and am thinking of doing the course in ED that starts on 30 Nov. wanhope - I noticed on NCT website that they also do "refresher" courses which are 1 day courses which might suit you as a second timer? And they also do coffee groups. I think I will do the full antenatal course though as I am feeling pretty clueless!
  16. I have recently moved into a Victorian house in ED and the stairs are creaky and rickety. Our building survey highlighted that the stairs would need repairing soon. We can see that someone has attempted to fix them in the past, but we are looking for someone to come and do a proper job of repairing them to ensure they are safe. Please let me know if you are / can recommend a reputable trades person to arrange a visit and quote. Many thanks
  17. Hello ladies, I have just moved to East Dulwich and am expecting my first baby on January 17th, so was delighted to stumble across this thread and see some of the suggestions for NCT and other classes. I haven't really thought about classes yet, but suppose I should as the time will no doubt fly by! I am also keen to find a pregnancy yoga class or similar when I get a bit bigger. I also have my scan booked at 22 weeks, I am so impatient and want to have it sooner just to know that things are ok in there! Moving house was a bit of a struggle as I was exhausted and couldn't lift anything heavy, but the last few days I am definitely feeling more energetic so looking forward to the famous "glowing" stage. Anyway, best of luck to you all, and do keep posting any recommendations for pregnancy related things in the area as they are really helpful for this newby
