  1. Demolition at the old PO site on Silvester/Pellatt Roads seems to be carrying on, while neighbours are stuck at home, many of us NHS staff on shifts and most trying to home school. The noise, vibration and dust is unbearable. The builders are all huddled together during breaks, too, and one has developed a cough in the past few days. The work is clearly nonessential, as they are building a block of flats and 3 town houses. Apart from the obvious public health concerns, I am interested to find out how far is the noise travelling - are other people locally finding it a nuisance? Thanks.
  2. Hi James,

The last round of cuts saw the sub-PO on Melbourne Grove get the chop, with the family-owned shop closing as a result. Today, like many days, the queue at the Lordship Lane PO was out of the door, even with four counters open. If the LL PO closes, too, I'm not sure there will be a service within reasonable walking distance of this end of ED. I can understand why the PO/politicians might put the branch into a shop to save money, by selling a prime site and franchising the business, but why can?t they be straight about how local services will suffer further?
