If you can please send me the rough width and length of each window I can give you an estimate based on this.Would you want blackout lining or regular lining? If you are happy with the estimate I can visit you to measure exactly and show you samples of my work, samples of lining fabrics and the cleats and pulls I use.

    My email is [email protected]

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Many thanks

  2. My little one has just started at St Marys and absolutely loves it.The staff are great and very caring.I was a bit apprehensive leaving her at first as she has never been looked after by anyone other than family but they we very reassuring and she actually waved me off and was so happy and comfortable she didn't stop chatting all morning. It is a shame they are only open mornings but as my husband and I both work from home it suits our situation. They have a huge hall with various activities and outdoor space and the children all seem pretty happy. It actually really reminded me of my Playgroup setting back in the early 80s.

They are charity run and do various fund raising events. They pay extra themselves for outside people to come and run different activities such as sports on a Friday.I've already decided to increase her mornings,?12 a session is incredible.I can't praise the staff enough.

The Montessori on Kitto Road is also meant to be excellent and open all day but I think they currently have a waiting list for the 2.5 yo.I know you need to fill a form in online to then have a tour and then it is ?40 to put your name on the waiting list.

Hope you find something suitable for your little one.

  3. Hi

I made the roman blind for Wanhope after she contacted me. I am based locally and am happy to given free quotes for roman blinds.

Please find my Facebook page below for photo of previous projects. I made bespoke roman blinds, cushions, a bit of upholstery and some handmade crafts that I sell at the Hill Trader in Telegraph Hill.

Please do excuse the quality of the photos, it is on my list of jobs to get more professional photos done as the lighting is dreadful on mine.

You can contact me via PM on EDF or through the Facebook page.

    Many Thanks

  4. Hi

If you are interested in roman blinds I make made to measure ones and am based locally. I am just starting my business but have made dozens of high quality, hand finished blinds and can send photos or you can view a few on my Facebook page. I have a textiles background and have been trained by my mother in law who has over 35 years experience in soft furnishings (BTW she has had to re-make some dreadful ones from Hillarys recently!). I am very reasonably priced and have an opening for next week, depending on the size of the project I can turn the job around in a week. I am based in Peckham but have family and friends in East Dulwich so am often around the area and can come and measure and do a free quote.

My link is below, if anyone is interested please contact me.

  5. If you get the 36 I would suggest trying to perhaps get it from Peckham at the end of Rye Lane nearest Peckham library.Past experience of buses on strike days means I would avoid big transport hubs like Vauxhall and Victoria if you are able to!
  6. I like that idea.I do a bit of machine embroidery so I was thinking ladybirds or even trying some basic potato or Lino printing.I really will go to great lengths to avoid pink,I hate it that much! But from what I have seen with my friends kid's they eventually are drawn to pink no matter what you do to fight it!Am I alone in the frustrations of pink being enforced on our daughters??!
  7. I will be tracking a copy down this afternoon.

I live in Peckham and attend monthly local residents meeting where we discuss local issues. The association have campaigned on various issues over the years to get funding to help improve the area and have made a valuable and positive contribution to the community. Many of the members have lived here all, or a majority of their lives. Meetings often end with them reminiscing about all the changes they have seen over the years (Rye Lane used to be a shopping destination that people would flock to, a 2nd Oxford Street one of my older neighbours used to call it). I think it would be really interesting to hear their stories and learn some of the history of Peckham from their perspective. There are huge changes happening all over Peckham now, some good and some bad I am sure.

I think many residents get frustrated with how Peckham is often portrayed in the media with such negativity ,crime rates, gangs etc. When the riots of 2011 occurred there was a large focus on Peckham but I heard (and feel free to correct me if I am wrong,I didn't witness it first hand) that Lordship Lane was actually vandalised more but this wasn't reported on in the media.

As one of my neighbours who has lived here over 40 years said very proudly 'People can slag off Peckham, but I love my Peckham'.

  8. There is a new website called Cookisto and I noticed someone in the Peckham area makes beef rendang. It's an idea that started in Athens and recently launched here, people make various home cooked dishes and sell to people.I was thinking about signing up as I love making a massive pot of rendang. It brings back wonderful memories of family trips to Penang!
  9. Hi

Myself,Rosie and Rachael have taken over running the group on Mondays between 1-3pm in the small church hall at Goose Green. It is quite an informal drop-in group and we have a large range of toys for newborns to toddlers.Tea,coffee and biscuits available,we do ask for a ?1 donations towards running costs please.

It is run through the Nct but you don't have to be a member to join us.Please feel free to pop along as it's always great to meet mums in the area and have a chat.
