Thank you. I think computed..... passed away some time ago. If I'm wrong I humbly apologise. -
Long shot I know. Does anyone have any info on the balloon that was in the school grounds in ww2?

Please tell me when the bell tower in Heber Rd school was taken down. I have sent an email to admin at the school which has been ignored. Not the manners I learned when a pupil there in the 1940's! Thank you

Replying to my own request. I was 9 years old. In Jennings Rd we had an enormous bonfire in the road, and burnt all the rubbish we and our parents could find

What did you or your grandparents/parents do to celebrate VE Day 1945?

Bike shed in front garden? (Do I need planning permission...)

Don't know about bike sheds in front gardens but can remember the bike shed at the hospital! Wow! -
When I was a kid during WW2 the 'paddling pool' was full of broken glass and dog mess. Is this the same place?

How many ex-East Dulwichites are still active on the EDF?
Rocky742 replied to Twirly's topic in The Lounge
I left ED when I joined the RAF in 1954. Still look back with fond memories I was born in Jennings Rd, lived there through the war, went to Heber Rd school when it had a bell tower. When I look at Google street maps, I know it's 60yrs ago, but I have trouble recognising places. Hey Ho, would like to come back sometime -
Hope all is ok Are you connected
