  1. Rabya has been doing my lashes for about 6 months now, and she is so professional, with great attention to detail. She loves her work and has done great things for me - I have very pale, thin eyebrows and short, sparse lashes, but she works wonders and really cares about the outcome. So lovely to be able to relax in your own home while she does her magic. I hardly ever wear make up now, as I look so polished with my tidy eyebrows and long lashes. People at work have commented on my 'new amazing mascara' - I've not let it slip they aren't what they seem - they look really natural, just as if you have natural long lashes with a coat of mascara. If you need to be dressed up for work, it is such a relief to be able to swim, cycle or whatever before work and stroll in afterwards, still looking made up. Rabya is also very good value for money. I do not hesitate to recommend her if you have been thinking about getting lashes or other beauty treatments. Ask for her new 'Russian Volume' lashes, especially if you have short and/or sparse lashes.
  2. Another shout for local greens - excellent value and not for profit local enterprise. They will be at Goose Green fair on 11 May if you'd like to see the produce and speak to other members of the scheme.
  3. We live near Dunstan's. Our house is a lot cheaper than the East London prices we paid previously I think because it's not so easy for transport (ie three minutes from 5th floor flat to getting on a tube). However we had no issue with it as we cycle most places and have found buses and overground surprisingly quick. I work in Central and OH works east and it takes us 35 minutes to get to work. Admittedly we're more cycling and dinner type people than out all night clubbing but we don't have kids and love it here so far. If you are party people Peckham is the place to be I'm told so you've got the right area! Number 12 bus route is a short walk away and takes you direct to Oxford circus via picadilly and it's 24 hours, or London bridge has numerous ways of getting home late if you are meeting friends in town. There's a lot more 'going on' here IMO than there was in East or North London when I lived there but it's difficult to know what one person wants as entertainment compared to someone else. Hope that helps and Merry Christmas.
  4. We bought ours from the Clockhouse - don't normally go in for a 'real tree' but as we're hosting the family this year thought we'd be a bit more traditional. I have to say I love it, it smells lush and looks great. It's maybe 6 or 7 feet tall and was ?35 (?37 with stand). The chaps at CH were really pleasant and crowned it for us so it was good to go as soon as we got it in the house. We also made some older residents laugh as the two of us carried it home! Must have been quite a sight from their reaction. Next year we'd like to get a pot tree so if there's anywhere selling good ones do recommend (or maybe the CH sellers would like to expand?) Happy Christmas!
  5. I know it's early but it's our first ED Christmas and the outlaws want to know if there will be a local pub open on Christmas day for a pint. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? I will definitely ask all our local landlords what they plan on doing but your local knowledge and advice is much appreciated. And - here's the cherry on top - is there anywhere for carolling (and drinking, presumably) on Christmas eve? (Apart from preferably in your own living room, quiet enough not to rouse next door's children). I don't know where this idea has come from, there's no family tradition, just wishful thinking I believe... I believe carols on Christmas day are also acceptable... *rolls eyes* Thanks in advance!
  6. We moved here to pay less rent and have more room compared to a flat in Limehouse. What I can't work out is how the rent is cheaper but the house up the road is going for 30% more than the place we moved out of went for (we only moved because it was sold by the landlord). Am I missing something?
  7. Just ordered from 2sisters thanks to your recommendation. It was delicious. Thanks for the tip. They were also very friendly and able to cater for all sorts of diets. It all seems to be freshly made. And very reasonably priced!
