  1. We have been thinking of having number 3. But our first is almost 8 and our second almost 5 (both Dec). By the time we decide, get pregnant and give birth it might be a year / a year and a half so making the ages gaps 6 - 6 1/2 and 9 - 9 1/2 Is that just too big? We fear we might end up with a child the other two won't end up playing/ interacting with and will grow up to be more of an only child and I will be the one who will have to entertain him/her ;-) What are your experiences? Thank you
  2. that is leaking? Just opposite Queens Road Peckham. Thank you
  3. The lights come on, everything seems to be working but the temp doesn't go up... Thank you

  6. Hello DaveR... how long are your children? Thank you Yes, day to the beach and catacombs!
  7. sorry children are 4 and 7. They have travelled a lot (India, Caribbeans, Africa, Italy... ) but they have always been more adventure / beach type trips or longer stays when we have just immersed ourselves in the local life. I have been to Rome many times and love it, but I was single and childless. So I am wondering whether I am deluding myself that the children would enjoy the cultural city sightseeing trip and I better stick stick to the adventure/ beach combo rather ...
  8. HELP Just had this crazy idea of going to Rome for 6 days with the kids and my partner in March. My vision is of the children taking in all the amazing sights, eating pizzas and gelatos, walking in awe through the forum, being overwhelmed by the beauty of it all and last but not least to practice a bit of Italian (they think I am the only one who speaks strange!) ... Do you think the vision will be very far from the reality of them whining and complaining it's too far to walk and too much to see and 'not interesting'... ?! I must book soon as flights are going up and hotels are getting booked! Is it a waste of good money?! Thank you
  9. We have two Canadian girls staying with us till 22nd and then all the family descends upon us so they need somewhere to stay 22-27 December. They are happy to look after house, pets, do a bit of diy and cleaning. They have been really good with any tasks we have given them. Please get in touch if you know anyone who is going away for the holiday. B
  10. Hello there both birthdays approaching so I am starting to panic... Thank you
  11. We recently moved from ED to Devon and my son is attending a super local school. We are now bidding to win 25K from Aviva for an outdoor 'classroom' which will benefit not just the school but the whole community (toddler groups, Scouts, visiting schools, the secondary school, etc.)If your school ever goes on a trip to the Jurassic Coast, it is likely they will use the outdoor hub too! It is a small local community school so unless friends far and wide vote for us we don't stand a chance. All you have to do is follow the link and vote 10 times (all in one go) to help us. PLEASE! https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/project/view/2941/
  12. I have just bought a new phone which takes a different sim than my old one. Before I can get the new one up and running i need to register the new sim making the old one obsolete, so how can i transfer my contacts from one to the other when they can't both be on at the same time?! Thank you
  13. Monkey, it is a lovely school. And schools are one of the reasons we moved! Ok, will get there at the crack of dawn...
  14. I will be going Tue or Wed. I remember it being packed at week ends, but surely not mid week?!
  15. the thing is that we moved from ED to the Devon/Dorset border last year. My son goes to school to Charmouth (next beach along from Lyme Regis) which is where people come to fossil hunt from all over the UK, so that's what we do almost every day after school - sit on the beach looking for fossils! And obviously they have done MA at school, and there is her museum in Lyme, so it is very much part of our life at the moment. It will be good to see something about her in a different place. Thank you.
  16. oh Mary Anning is the current hero! I will explore that. thank you
  17. Have a day off with the children (3 and 6) next week and want to take them to one of the museums, which one do your kids prefer? Thank you
  18. That's great. Amydown - these are great. We do n 1 naturally but for n 2 don't always link action an consequence! Thank you!
  19. No not cheesy ... I like that. It is going to be the first rule, thank you
  20. I took my children home today after they completely went hysterical at a friend's house, leaving feeling ashamed and embarrassed.... Thought it might be time to have some rules: do you have some good ones? I am reluctant to say 'do as your are told' because it seems a bit mean and doesn't leave much room for any creativity and responsibility on their part. Yet, a rule that asks them to do that would be useful... Thank you
  21. I need a sofa taken from Peckham Queens Road to Camberwell Green asap. Can anyone help? Emmanuel can't do it!Thank you
  22. Great thank you. I was not getting replies to my email, so found all these all at once. Great!
  23. Planning to take a friend out for a special afternoon tea with bubbly, and hoping for somewhere nice but not too pricey (more like ?25 rather than ?50). Any suggestions? Thank you
  24. I have not seen the last two episodes and they are not available on BBC Iplayer anymore, nor on Amazon Prime... Do you know how I could catch up with it? Thank you
  25. At my son's school they give simple home works on Friday. I have boycotted this as I find it unnecessary for a five year old in year 1. Teacher has not complained. I know the head is adding a lot of extra work as Ofstead are about to come and inspect and i suspect it will all relaxed after that. I feel children should be able to play, relax and do what something other than formal learning after 6 hours of school, 5 days a week.
