  1. I've made this into a Google Maps List ? let me know if anyone else has more suggestions. https://goo.gl/maps/zrfWd5b3G5tDekV4A
  2. Yeah it has ? trying it tonight so will let you know! Terroir's is amazing, but super expensive.
  3. Yep ? Organic Village have Borough Wines (White / Ros? / Red), Cave de Bruno has a selection of four wines, and Terroirs usually have six-ish natural wines on tap (got to drink these ones quickly).
  4. Another addition to the various refilleries on Lordship Lane ? and looks like they've got quite an extensive collection of produce/wine/cleaning products they're going to be offering (spoke to the owner and it's going to be ready for business tomorrow). So in total that makes: Food - As Nature Intended - Organic Village Market Cleaning Products: - Karavan Eco - As Nature Intended Wine: - Terroirs - Cave de Bruno - Organic Village Market Any others I've missed off the list?
  5. Currently trying to get some volunteers to run it?
  6. Would love to know where anyone has hosted a 2nd birthday party in the area ? would need to be big enough to host at least 20 adults and ~12-ish toddlers (plus a few babies). Will be on a Sunday.
  7. That's a great option. King's College Children's A&E are also accepting donations.
  8. From next week she's going freelance, and we're whole heartedly able to recommend her. She's an EU national, has been cleaning for us for 11 months, and has great attention to detail. We've always been able to trust her. Her English isn't very good (yet), but we've always been very happy with her (and we have very high standards). Daniela: 07747 884120. Very happy to answer any questions about her either below or via PM.

Britain and America lost about the same number of soldiers during the whole of WW2, roughly half a million, give or take. The Soviets sacrificed over 8 million soldiers fighting the Nazis. I don't see us rolling out the red carpet for Vladimir Putin any time soon? I appreciate the need for Trump to be invited to Portsmouth as President of the USA, but he is a charmless, narcissistic draft dodger who will take the focus away from the remaining D-Day veterans and their families on what should be a very special commemoration. Which is a shame.
  10. I saw a cat being hit by a car trying to cross the road just next to 306 Medical Centre. The driver briefly stopped until the cat got up and scampered off. Not much they could have done to avoid it, the cat ran out from underneath a car. The cat survived the immediate accident and ran down an alleyway east of Lordship Lane, but it was such a serious collision I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't make it through the night. Another passer by tried to run after it ? she reckoned it was black and white, but I was pretty sure it was a tabby (sorry if this is less than helpful, but just saying what we both saw).
  11. I'm not sure ? it was gone within an hour or two of me posting. Hopefully someone has done the responsible thing. Really sad though.
  12. Very sorry to say, but we've seen there's a dead cat outside 312 Lordship Lane. Quite large, black coat, white paws and around the mouth. Not sure if male or female. No Collar. Almost certainly it was a traffic accident ? no obvious injuries. Appreciate this may be upsetting, but in order to help with identification, here are some photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/fqrLFvxLfdkWGhgd8
  13. 24 hour Payless on Lordship Lane has plenty of 5 litre bottles of anyone wants to stock up.
  14. Also, Toasted is going to be closing on Sunday for a refurb ? same people, but will reopen as Terroirs (the other branch is just off the Strand). The big wine tanks are going, but they'll still be doing bottle refills from the 10 odd wine taps they'll have at the bar.
  15. Plough DIY is staying put, it's Plough Plaster Arts that is expanding to take over both units (including the old Butchers). Obviously they're doing the fit-out themselves?

There's now a sign on the boarded up Mrs Robinsons unit saying it'll be a Mons cheesemongers (their first dedicated shop). Cheese fiends: rejoice. People who miss Iceland: despair. Plus, technically not new, but Organic Village Market opposite EDT has been renovated, now has an organic butcher's counter out back. Perfect for when you fancy a grass-fed steak at 2am.

They're now completely renovating this unit ? anyone got any idea what's happening at 355 Lordship Lane?
  18. Hi EmmaJo, It depends on whether or not you already have materials purchased and are doing it that way. If you want the full package, we've just had our bathroom done by Bells, and we're incredibly happy with the results. Happy to message you photos if you like. In-store, Tony was both patient and helpful, and was quick to respond / quote via email. When we made amends this was requoted for rapidly. The actual work itself was done by two blokes ? Paul (plumber) and Dave (builder / tiler). Both great guys, and they went the extra mile to make sure that everything was spot-on. We know they could easily have cut corners but chose not to. They tick the boxes for your bathrooms ? honesty, professionalism and reliability. Bells also do kitchens, but we haven't had ours done yet. Hope that helps!
  19. Iceland needs to go. They mistreat farmers, the meat is factory farmed, they essentially sell cheap and nasty nutrient-free carbohydrates instead of the protein and fats our ancestors ate. It's an inconvenient truth, but cheap, processed food is a false economy. In Mediterranean countries rich and poor all eat real food and the divergence in life expectancy is far narrower. Stop apologising for Iceland as some kind of poor man's champion. It's offensive. They're preying on the poor, peddling obesity, diabetes, and other metabolic disorders. Good riddance.
  20. We also chose Julian Richards after getting quotes from most of the above, and he did not disappoint. He's quite in demand so you may have to wait a little while, but in our experience it was well worth it ? happy for anyone to PM me to ask for photos etc.
  21. Tried it on Friday, really very good ? from the Poppadoms right through to the Murgh Dhansak. We did find a long blonde hair in one of the dishes which was a bit off-key, but the food was fantastic nonetheless.
