  1. Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know that I visited the South London Sling Library today and have borrowed the Connecta Weave as suggested. I seems great so can't wait to try it out on holiday. Thanks for all your help, I didn't know this library existed!
  2. Hi everyone! Thanks so much for your comments, I will definitely look into hiring the Connecta Solar Weave - I can't see that we will need it for any future trips so better than buying (plus as someone mentioned seems to be sold out everywhere!) Didn't even know there was such a thing as a sling library so that is super helpful! @Convex - we might take a really lightweight stroller but the thought makes me shudder, I prefer to travel light and when we went to Greece in July we didn't take a pram, and we were fine. Ok when I say fine I mean I'd eat my dinner one handed with baby sleeping on my lap LOL. Maybe we will take one.... Why did the tour groups keep trying to pick up your son??!! Do you mean other tourists...? Why do people do that, I find that so strange!
  3. Hiya, I'm looking for a baby carrier for my baby as we are going away for 3 weeks in December to Thailand... We are not taking a pram. We will mainly use it for when we are doing lots of walking, visiting markets and generally when her little legs get tired. We're going to Chiang Mai, Bangkok and the islands. Does anyone have any recommendations? As we are only using for this trip I don't really want to splash out. She's around 10kg at the mo and it will be mid to late 20's when we're out there do nothing too thick. Thanks in advance!

I found Arnold absolutely useless to be honest with you - we did not even get a face to face apology... I will be sending a complain email to Southwark ([email protected]) and Arnold today - Arnold told me he was the one to complain to officially but I'd like to log my complaint with the official dept. also to make sure it gets followed up accordingly.
  5. Hi Lindsay, I'm really sorry to hear that about your car. I wouldn't believe Southwark to be honest, it was the "head engineer" (Southwark employee) who instructed Conway to move the vehicles last night.. I wouldn't be surprised if that information has just not been communicated to the office! Our car was parked on Hillsboro Road and I believe that's where they moved most of the cars to... good luck in finding it. If you don't manage to find it try to hunt down the Southwark employee. The Conway guys won't have a clue. M
  6. I parked my car on ED Grove yesterday at around 6pm and checked all the parking suspension signs which said the suspension was from 11th July... other cars were also parked where I was (just outside of the hospital). Went to my antenatal class, came out 2 1/2 hours later and lo and behold my car had been moved. I was so annoyed because firstly the signs very clearly stated from 11th July and the 2 people from Southwark Council were particularly unhelpful with poor attitudes. When I asked where my car had been moved to they said they didn't know (!) probably at the top of the road... Ok then, so should I just traipse up and down the road looking for it?! When I asked them to escort me & my husband to wherever the Conway man was who was moving the cars they were super reluctant and nobody could answer the question of why all the signs were incorrect up and down the road! Absolutely no one took responsibility for this "the signs have nothing to do with us" - oh really Southwark council?! AND to top it off there was absolutely no apology for the inconvenience this caused to us. The "head engineer" from Southwark was more concerned about following us to the car so he could take photos and make sure we didn't claim the car had been damaged in the move! The "head engineer" also said he would walk away from us if we continue to argue with him (??) - no one was arguing we just wanted to understand 1. why the signs were wrong and 2. where the car was! He kept saying "you are on a site" ok then sir, so where are the signs to tell us this is a site? "at the top of the road" - ok but we've just come out of the hospital which is the middle of the road and there are no signs. The road was not closed when I drove down it at 6pm and there were no signs to say it would be closed thereafter... Anyway sorry guys, rant over - feel sorry for you if you live in the area and the roadworks will disrupt you. I suggest complaining to Southwark council!
  7. Hello, Looking for a mechanic recommendation - I'm SE26 based (right by Sydenham Hill woods) so somewhere nice and local and reasonable would be great. Have a suspected oil leak; last mechanic said he couldn't see a leak so my car is either drinking oil like no other (no idea why) or it's leaking. I've got a Fiat Bravo. Thanks in advance!
  8. So gutted I've missed all of these! I'm 28 weeks pregnant and would have loved to have attended had I have seen these before :(
  9. Hi, I haven't travelled around SE with children but if you are interested in visiting Laos (Vientiane, the capital) let me know as my family originate from Laos and have a guesthouse there (my mother's family home) that is frequently visited by families with young children/babies. :-)
  10. Hi Zoe, I'd be interested if the class was affordable. Actually came on to the forum to see what other expecting ladies did to keep fit and if anyone was up for meeting regularly for power walks or similar around the park I'm looking to start pregnancy yoga which is ?10 per session so wouldn't want to spend much on another class.
