BRIGHT LIGHTS DRAMA A PLAY IN A DAY STORYTELLING DRAMA WORKSHOP AND PERFORMANCE FOR 5-11YR OLDS TREASURE ISLAND by Robert Louis Stephenson WHEN & * Wednesday 1st June 2016 * (5-11yrs) WHERE 9.00am ? 12.30pm (performance at midday) Longfield Hall, 50 Knatchbull Road, London SE5 9QY WHAT? Your child will experience fun games and exercises to build up confidence, performance skills and presentation technique. They will take part in a cathartic and rewarding journey from conception through to performance as we put together a play in just one day. All parents, grandparents and of course extended family are welcome to see the fruits of our hard work. WHO ARE WE? CAMILLA DE QUETTEVILLE trained as a classical actress at the London Academy of Performing Arts and has worked in all parts of the industry. She co-founded Odd Sok Productions in 2004 which has seen sell-out shows on the Fringe circuit in London and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Camilla also runs drama workshops in primary schools with corporate volunteers. Additionally she works with children on improving public speaking, confidence and presentation on stage. (BA (Hons), Equity Member, CRB) NATALIA RAWLEY has an MA in Drama and Movement Therapy and graduated from the Central School of Speech and Drama in 2004. She has since been working at the Life Centre in Notting Hill, at a Mother & Child centre in Kensal Rise, as well as in hospitals, schools, prisons and also with private clients. Natalia uses the storytelling aspect of her therapy degree to encourage children to become confident and express themselves using drama, dance and play. (MA (Hons), BADTH, CRB) Together they are BRIGHT LIGHTS DRAMA and run after-school drama clubs in various schools across London. They also provide a wide-range of brilliant birthday party themes and are available for one-on-one tuition. WHEN & * Wednesday 17th February 2016 * (5-10yrs) WHERE 9.00am ? 12.30pm (performance at 12.00pm) Longfield Hall, 50 Knatchbull Road, London SE5 9QY WHAT? As well as playing plenty of games...in just a few hours we will read the story, chat about it, improvise around it, cast it, rehearse it and finally PERFORM it to you by the end of the morning. WHO Camilla (actress and producer as well as Mummy to Hugh and Cosmo) & Natalia (drama therapist as well as Mummy to Tarka, Merlin & Ivo) have been running these workshops across London for 10 years and parents are CONTINUALLY amazed and surprised at what we are able to get done in just a few hours with NO script WHAT DID THEY SAY ABOUT US? Bright Lights workshops are about the most fun a kid can have while learning valuable skills and developing the confidence to stand up in front of an audience. And the plays are always excellent. The productions allow each child the opportunity to shine. I know my boys will be back again for more this year! Mother of Hugo (12) and Felix (10) Seeing the boys get stuck in and come out at the end of the week with a surprisingly polished performance was immensely satisfying. They are not generally group contributors, but they got fully involved and were clearly very much enjoying themselves. And my youngest boy loved the performance!
