  1. Hi - I posted last time someone asked about this to say that I've got two children there and we love it, as do all of the other parents in both years. More than happy to answer any specific questions you might have.

My oldest son is now completing Yr 2 (the end of the Villa) and heading off to Dulwich College. The other destinations from his year are Dulwich Prep London, JAPS, one to a private school out of the area, and others to state schools. We've been really well supported through that process.

The staff are great and my kids are happy, and that is the main thing!!!

  2. I work at UCL and it's very family friendly. Most recruiting managers will consider part-time for all jobs if they can.

We are just about to recruit a talent manager in my office. Won't be ready to advertise for a month or so but I can let you know once it's out if you're still looking.

  3. My son is starting at the Villa School in September and I'm struggling to find any suitable* navy school shoes (*that don't look clumpy and old-fashioned).

The guidelines say 'no trainers or lace ups' but I'm not sure how strict they are about what classifies as a trainer.

I would love to hear from any other parents who have found something that looks nice and doesn't fall apart after a term.

    Thanks

  4. How about berkhamsted? It's our intended next stop as our families are in the midlands so kent takes us further away. Pretty pricey though and when we tried to move there a few years ago we gave up in the end as houses were at such a premium the agents weren't even doing viewings unless you'd already sold your own house. Which we hadn't. Still it's a lovely small town with quick train into Euston. Good schools too.
  5. I had virtually the same experience both times: induced due to waters breaking and then a v medicalised labour. HOWEVER, my reaction to the experience couldn't hAve been more different. I felt relaxed and calm second time round. I think it helped that he arrived in 3 pushes. It was the most amazingly beautiful moment of my life (as opposed to hideous ventouse palaver first time round). I felt much more present than I had done the first time and was actually able to enjoy it. I too benefitted from the Lindy lu "I'm doing it!!!" approach and even used some of her music to give birth to.

I am sure you will be fine. Your body knows what to do, as others have said, and the baby will be out in no time!!

    Good luck x
