  1. Hi - we would very much like to get a mini schnauzer addition to the family but my husband can be allergic to dogs, even ones that are hypoallergenic. I?m looking for a schnauzer we could meet in the park so we can see what happens when he spend time with one before we get too far into the buying process. Do you have one? Could we meet?! Thanks! J-Mo
  2. Hi - I posted last time someone asked about this to say that I've got two children there and we love it, as do all of the other parents in both years. More than happy to answer any specific questions you might have. My oldest son is now completing Yr 2 (the end of the Villa) and heading off to Dulwich College. The other destinations from his year are Dulwich Prep London, JAPS, one to a private school out of the area, and others to state schools. We've been really well supported through that process. The staff are great and my kids are happy, and that is the main thing!!! J-Mo
  3. Hi - we?ve got 2 children there who?ve both been there since they were 2. They are now both in the school. We love it and I think the nursery is especially good. My eldest was somewhere else before and the Villa is way better. Great outdoor space, great staff. Highly recommended.
  4. Hi I wanted to recommend an electrician who is just starting out on his own. His name is Jasper Cardwell and his number is 07500 006 604 and email [email protected] We had him in to do a piece of work sorting out the lighting in our whole house and he's done a great job. J-Mo
  5. Hi there, I need my front door re-hanging. The top hinge has dropped and the door is now sticking. Can you help? Or know someone who can? I need it doing on 13,14 or 15 August if poss. Thanks J-Mo
  6. And I have a Spanish one. I'll ask her if she's keen.
  7. We paid ?10ph for when she looked after children from one family, and ?11.50ph when nanny share. All net. I think ?10 seems pretty standard but I have seen people paying ?12.
  8. Ah hello Piaf my friend Ive seen the one option in Biffs. They are the only ones I can find and they are a bit clumpy for my liking. I think I'm mainly just cross at not having a choice and having to buy that one pair. Xxxxx Hope holiday is getting better after sicky journey Xxxx
  9. I paid ?10ph net for nanny looking after my 2 children, and ?11.50ph to same nanny when doing nanny share with 2 children (1 of mine, 1 from other family).
  10. I gave birth twice at Kings and registered both at Camberwell. No need to go anywhere else. Rang for an appointment. Think it took a while to get in though. At least a few weeks.
  11. I work at UCL and it's very family friendly. Most recruiting managers will consider part-time for all jobs if they can. We are just about to recruit a talent manager in my office. Won't be ready to advertise for a month or so but I can let you know once it's out if you're still looking. J-mo
  12. My son is starting at the Villa School in September and I'm struggling to find any suitable* navy school shoes (*that don't look clumpy and old-fashioned). The guidelines say 'no trainers or lace ups' but I'm not sure how strict they are about what classifies as a trainer. I would love to hear from any other parents who have found something that looks nice and doesn't fall apart after a term. Thanks J-mo
  13. There is also Sydenham woods which is great if your children are walking. You can get in from a path opposite that boarded up pub on lordship lane just before the horniman. Think the path is called cox's walk...?
  14. There was a tweet on 12 may that said decisions had been delayed until early June
  15. How about berkhamsted? It's our intended next stop as our families are in the midlands so kent takes us further away. Pretty pricey though and when we tried to move there a few years ago we gave up in the end as houses were at such a premium the agents weren't even doing viewings unless you'd already sold your own house. Which we hadn't. Still it's a lovely small town with quick train into Euston. Good schools too.
  16. Wow! I want to go to country kids. I just need a quick remortgage first.... It looks amazing! Especially the Friday 7am pyjama party so you can have a lie in. YES please :)
  17. Hi - just wondered if anyone is using the alternatives to Nannytax and would recommend them? I don't want to go cheap for the sake of it if the service is not as good but equally don't want to pay double unnecessarily! Any comments gratefully received. Thanks J-mo
  18. Have you seen Pagel? It's not exactly a farm stay but might be up your street
  19. Yes - local firm called bridges removals. Steve is the man to talk to. Don't have their number to hand but they'll come up if you google them. They moved us and a nu bee of my friends and have always done an excellent and well-priced job. They packed up my kitchen for me too last time. V helpful.
  20. And hpsaucy, mine arrived in the sac too (turned out full waters hadn't broken after all). What an amazing sight that is. V lucky apparently. He's a very chilled out little chap, maybe cos he was protected from everything until he was out!
  21. I had virtually the same experience both times: induced due to waters breaking and then a v medicalised labour. HOWEVER, my reaction to the experience couldn't hAve been more different. I felt relaxed and calm second time round. I think it helped that he arrived in 3 pushes. It was the most amazingly beautiful moment of my life (as opposed to hideous ventouse palaver first time round). I felt much more present than I had done the first time and was actually able to enjoy it. I too benefitted from the Lindy lu "I'm doing it!!!" approach and even used some of her music to give birth to. I am sure you will be fine. Your body knows what to do, as others have said, and the baby will be out in no time!! Good luck x
  22. My bro has a company that does this: Lawton Moule cleaning. They did an excellent job last time we moved house. No website but you can call them for a quote: Will 07817 892577
  23. Hi - we got ours from s craft through John Lewis. They were excellent. Brought lots of samples when they came to measure up and talked through all the options. We just have them in bottom half. Not sure how effective they are at cutting out light. If I were having them in a bedroom I think I'd want curtains too.
  24. I'm sure there is something on lordship lane. I've seen posts on here before asking for donations of childrens items - nappies etc. anyone else remember? Some kid of hostel?
