  1. Thanks all. I had considered Canvas & Cream but when I passed there last Saturday afternoon, it was heaving with people. I guess in the autumn months people tend to opt for inside seating rather than al fresco so it would make sense why so many places are rammed at the moment. Maybe if I go now I might be lucky and beat the lunchtime rush, failing that, I'll go on to the The Montpelier on Chaumert Road as that sounds perfect. I doubt I wiill give the 6 x 6 method a go seeing as I'm not really into pints but I like your style. I'd probably spend more time in the loo than getting anything written since beer goes right through me. More of a Sauvignon Blanc girl myself and having six of those would only lead me into other activies one shouldn't be doing, as well as, plenty of visits to the loo.
  2. I don't live in East Dulwich (I wish!) but I don't live too far away. Just at the bottom of Stanstead Road which is borderline Forest Hill, as my flat is situated in SE6 just two streets down from SE23. Our little peninsular has been gentrified and given the name of Perry Vale North. I kid you not, it's got a sign up at each end of the road to let us all know this is where we are. Probably just a way of compensating us for not be considered as Forest Hill. Anyway, I wondered if anyone could recommend any caf?s, pubs, bars (away from Lordship Lane) in East Dulwich where it doesn't get too busy on a Saturday morning / afternon where I can sit in a corner, minding my own business so I can write. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Of course I'd go exploring myself but working full time and studying part time doesn't leave much time for exploration. Thank you!
