  1. Hi! What's happening with all these escapees?! I put up pics and details on the RSPCA lost and found register, have been keeping an eye on Facebook lost bird pages, and posted here but no sign of the owners so far. So we bought a cage and he has settled in for now much to our daughter's delight. A lady did pm me to say she has a friend with a cage who would be glad to look after him and adopt him if the owners couldn't be found. I could put you in touch if you like? K
  2. Someone's sweet little budgie just flew into our garden. Managed to get him inside so he's safe now and eating bird seed. Call 07713519158. Cheers Katharine
  3. Hello! Sorry to post in this section but the businesses section doesn't seem to get responses to this particular question. Would love to hear from anyone who can ask their cleaner if they want an extra few hours every couple of weeks in a (fairly!) clean and tidy house in East Dulwich. Many thanks
  4. We have 6 tickets going spare for this today- guaranteed to be a good laugh. ?15 each for a bit of craic on a rainy day! Can print tickets and meet there or email them over. https://www.plosive.co.uk/events/rooftop-comedy-experience-peckham-dylan-moran-july03
  5. Thanks again to those who have commented. I guess you're always taking a bit of a punt buying any property but obviously best to go in armed with as much knowledge as possible so I really do appreciate hearing your views and experiences. It is a small block which gives me comfort...
  6. Thanks so much to all who have given their input. I imagine the horror stories are more widely known because there's not much to talk about when things are ticking along nicely, which is why I wanted to hear about experiences both good and bad. I feel it wouldn't be fair to the vendors to say where the flat is but from what I could see it's pretty well-maintained and a mix of social and private homes. Really appreciate hearing your thoughts as we are new to the slightly daunting property game!
  7. How are they to deal with if issues arise or if they decide work needs to be done? Is extending the lease a relatively easy and fair process? We're looking at a maisonette in a small, old enough, sturdy-looking block. Any comments, positive or negative, would be gratefully received!
  8. Just wondering if anyone has experience of being on Charter's waiting list... My daughter's quite high up on it and I'd love to get an idea of when they start letting people know if they can offer a place. Or do you have to get in touch to find out? Thanks!
  9. Does anyone happen to know her? Found it this morning on Cyrena Road near Heber. Thanks
  10. Hi there! A friend directed me to your post- I?ll be at the market this Saturday or if you need it sooner I?m around for the week. Will send you a pm with my details. Thanks so much! Katharine
  11. Brilliant stall! My daughter is obsessed with Jurassic Park (and dinosaurs in general) and it made her weekend to find a Lego Indominus Rex figure here. Great for me too because I buy the set would have cost a fair whack more! Thanks lads!
  12. As far as I remember they?re aiming to re-open under new management mid July. Went to the PO on Crossthwaite Ave today to avoid the queue on lordship lane- it?s a drive but we?ll worth it
  13. Hi Jackie What kind of fabrics will you be selling? Thanks!
  14. Silver and cubic zirconia(?) ring- pm for details
  15. Thanks KidKruger. He came in the back and left through the front door which he left ajar behind him. A house at the corner of silvester/Crystal Palace roads is having work done and the entire side wall is down leaving that and the neighbouring gardens exposed. My boyfriend went round to see if the post office collection place might have cctv on the area but it doesn?t look like it would catch anything across the road. I?ve no doubt the guy hopped into the gardens there and made his way along the flat roof extensions or jumping fences looking for open windows. So far I?ve heard of one other home that he went into on the same night and the last post from Puwetter makes it sound like he may have come back again last night. Anyway, the long and short of it is that if you know anyone living along the top stretch of Whateley/Silvester Rd, please let them know how vulnerable it is at the moment.
  16. We have thanks, and they?re all here. A forensic detective just came over and didn?t get anything that could identify the person but he said he was pretty sure they know who did it. Apparently there?s a guy the police have dubbed the night-crawler who hops fences and can climb drainpipes, balconies, etc and gets in via open windows and doors. He?s active around here, camberwell and Peckham.
  17. We were indeed- such a horrible feeling. Don?t know how the dog didn?t wake us up but just relieved she didn?t go down and get hurt, and that whoever it was didn?t come upstairs. I?ve listed some of the things that were taken in the lost/found section just on the off chance something turns up.
  18. We were broken into last night (on Whateley Road) and I just thought I?d mention some of the things that were taken in case they turn up anywhere. Tag watch with strap not attached and dead battery Nikon D5300 White ASOS laptop iPhone 5s (no sim so we can?t track it) Brown leather wallet Blue suede purse Thanks
  19. Just a heads up for neighbours in the area- we were burgled last night any time between midnight and 5am. We?re in one of the terraced houses with the gardens between Whateley and silvester roads. We?ve reported it to the police. Hope it hasn?t happened to anyone else.
  20. There?ll be handmade gifts, music, mulled cider and a kids? Play area to keep the little ones entertained.
  21. By the playground next to the Peckham Rye Cafe. Left it in the cafe and told them I?d post here.
  22. As well as the recommendations you've had, have a listen to Esther Perel (YouTube, podcasts)- whether you're struggling or not she has a brilliant way of talking about relationships, communication and all the other things that go into making it work.
  23. Pretty sure he's around Whateley Rd or silvester Rd at the moment if anyone spots him. No collar on and really friendly
  24. Saw a pheasant in Peckham Rye park a few days ago in the gated area opposite the park office. Apparently he's been spotted a few times but doubt it's quiet enough for him to stick around.
