  1. Yeh I'm fine, just arming myself with some britvic 55 in case they return
  2. It did make me grumpy.....but then I remembered what I was like as a teenager, and now think it was a pretty poor attempt at criminal damage.....kids these days.......no imagination
  3. Whilst sitting in front room this morning I was greeted by a J20 bottle being thrown at my front window by three youths on bikes. It smashed (luckily hitting the brickwork below the window) and nobody was injured. However feeling mighty lucky, as I do think the window was the target. Has this happened to anyone else recently, or am I the only lucky one.......
  4. Got home weds to find we had been burgled, smashed back window at the rear of the house and literally climbed through. Took the usual laptop / ipod, watch etc, but thought would let people know. Police have been brilliant,as was man who reglazed late on a v cold snowy night. Just had a call from victim support as well, which is not needed but a welcome surprise. They got in and out through very insecure alleyway at the back of our house (backing onto shops on lordship lane) which the council are apparently dealing with by a installing a new fence, sadly a little late for us though. would have posted before but can only get to the internet for an hour each day at the library......
  5. I'd be interested to know where the girl who contracted the swine flu travelled in the USA. My mother returned from a holiday yesterday where she spent some time in Florida, she is very ill with flu, and says she has never had flu like this before. I called NHS direct, they then got the locum GP to call me who said that as she had not travelled in New York, California, Texas or Mexico then she is not considered at risk. This decision seems arbitrary considering that swine flu is in half of the states in the USA, and in Florida. As you can imagine I'm currently v worried about her.......
  6. I told the police 16 to early twenties, sadly I consider that to still be a kid! I do think they sound like the same people though. I can't say if they had leafleters bags on them, although there was an age concern collection bag on my doormat, but I assumed this had been left before they arrived, and so didnt mention it to the police.
  7. Yes that sounds like them, I didnt get a great look as they were off down the path quick smart as I opened the door, one had a brown jacket the other was wearing a black one, but what struck me was that they were not very tall, they seemd like kids really. I think you got a better look than me woodie but it seems they are doing the rounds......
  8. yes I'm fine, what made me laugh was that one of them was talking on his mobile at the same time as breaking in - who says men can't multi-task
  9. Yes I'm fine, as soon as they realised someone was in they left, which I'm grateful for. I'll remember to lock up tonight though.
  10. Just to let you know 2 young men tried to force my front door (Melford Road) today (thursday 26th march). They soon scarpered when I ran downstairs shouting hello, rang police etc but thought you should all know. Funny as its not like its a quiet road.......
