This is brilliant, nearly in tears laughing! I think my top annoyance is that I always try and make space for people walking the opposite way on the pavement but it seems very few people do the same. Makes me mad and so I have started to play chicken with people to see how close they'll get before moving an inch and really want to drop my shoulder for a dump tackle (not very ladylike!). Although interestingly I have found that many more people in East Dulwich give way (both walking and driving) than in other parts of London - and I've lived in quite a few different parts of London.

Haha - posta coffee, love it. Nigello - Yes I am happy to pay the correct amount (new higher prices for the larger size parcels etc) but when the parcel/ letter fits in the smaller size category I feel like I am being charged over the odds. Anyway - not a big issue really in a world with all the problems it currently has!

Hi, I know this is an old thread but I agreed with you Steviedulwich - the PO owners in Dulwich Village are so rude, barely look you in the eye or greet you. But the reason I wanted to post was that every time I go the subpostmaster uses the letter/ parcel measuring device and vaguely tries to put my letter through the gap, touches it with the lightest touch so that it doesn't go through and then charges the higher bracket for larger parcels. I can see that it would easily fit through the gap, but he seems to be cheating the system. I have asked him about this but he just does the same thing again. This happened again today (I had a small envelope with one piece of paper in it and he said it didn't fit through!). So, I said thanks and that I would go elsewhere. Quite annoying not to be able to use the closest PO. Has this happened to anyone else - I think I am going to report it to PO HQ.
