We will be hosting a fantastic Fun day from 11-4pm with a range of games, raffles, great prizes, jumping castle, food (BBQ, cakes, ice-creams and more).

Great football action will include: Speed shot, corner kick comp, soak a coach, x-bar challenge.

    All welcome.

  2. Hey, some good news on the fox-stealing-shoe-front.

Two doors down from us found a huge mound of shoes at the end of their garden this week. Not only were all of our boots there, but several hoards from our other neighbours. All shoes were pretty much chewed up around the back heels, except the much loved pair from Santa! *Hoooreyyy* (just a small nip, but nothing a bit of hand repair won't fix). My son was delighted to be reunited with them.

A lesson to be learned - NEVER LEAVE YOUR SHOES OUT OVERNIGHT!!!

  3. I'm not going mad, believe me! We have lost 2 pairs of mud-caked football boots from our back garden. I believe it is a fox, as I have picked up several times, my husbands work boots in the morning (from the middle of the back garden) and after he had neatly left them on the back deck.

We lost one pair of football boots and then today another went.

If anyone happens to find 2 random pairs of football boots (potentially half chewed in their gardens, pleases let me know). I have one very unhappy 7 year old. One pair were a Christmas present.

    Description:

Size 1 Nike mercurial (flouro yellow/ green)

Size 1 Addidas purple and orange in colour (both last seen on our back deck).

  4. I feel a tad better knowing I'm not the only one struck down with this bug. It's the second wave for me, this time, symptoms as Susierose described - started with bad stomache, heady and cough (nearly lost my voice), weeping eyes (stuck together in the morn) and really tired & feisty gut. I can't wait to feel normal again. My hubby has been Ace!! I need another go at Christmas!!! :(
  5. Something to lighten the mood.

P68 today's supp - for those who haven't already read it.

Franklins picked up a runner up award for best Ethical restaurant for this years Observer Food Monthly awards. If you haven't been already, I suggest you go. Even if it's for their budget 2 course lunch. I suspect Jay Rayner is a regular diner, given he lives a stone throw from LL.

    Congratulations to Franklins!

p.s love the apple press on the lane yesterday. :))

  6. Senor Chevalier - you can get a pretty good authentic flat white from the Blue Mountain Cafe (on North Cross road, ED). I was very pleased to see it on the menu not so long ago! And the staff were very familiar with the difference between a latte, Americano and the flat white.

All this coffee talk also put my high alert and whilst getting some lunch at Eat today (Southbank) I notice they too do a flat white.

  7. it's sad, but I am now (24 hours later) of the opinion that I just hope she really needed the money she stole from me, and for a good reason. I'm really ****ed off to have to cancel cards, get my license renewed, worry about the fact that someone else has this..etc etc. and be 50.00 less off.

The reason I posted this was really just to make people aware, that you can't just let your guard down and enjoy a leisurely browse down the lane. As much as I love it every Saturday. You have to, no matter what, really keep your eye out and be very aware of your personal possessions.

  8. Unfortunately I was pick-pocketed today in the mind charity shop. I can't believe it really.

I've reported it to the police. I saw the lady briefly who I know did it.

She came into the shop and bumped into me and then went straight out. At the time I didn't think anything of it, as I just thought she was just rude.

I had stupidly come out of the house without my bag and just put my wallet in my coat pocket. I'd also just taken 50.00 out of the ATMachine, so she would have been a happy lady.

So, if anyone finds a discarded Creme longer style ladies wallet, with butterflies printed on it. Around, please do get in touch, I know it's probably a long shot.

The lady, was a slim build, black complexion, about 36. Fairly well dressed, albeit it a little wired. She wasn't the trampy type.

    Be on your guard everyone.

    Man was I angry!!!!!

    :(

  9. Great idea, as long as they keep a close eye on the quality and mix of stalls. Please don't let in cheap and nasty imports. And I too am for market day closure. It's a real shame it's not paved and closed to allow for better flow through.

I'm keen on more food stalls. More the merrier I say, choice needs to be increased, and demand will increase accordingly. I think a moo town cheese baguette sounds awesome.

    thanks
