Not sure why you are defending people for parking where they shouldn't or over-running on paid parking.  I'd happily take much stronger enforcement on those that regularly park on double lines and zig zags.  The <removed> as you get on Forest Hill Road by the Turkish Supermarket doesn't wash.  Yes, I've had parking fines, when I've took a chance and thought I'd get away on a meter for a few minutes over (yes it was last century)

The point is that the council should spend their money on much better things. What a waste of public resources.

  2. A lot of the bad parking is by kids who steal the bikes - you can get them moving without paying if you know how, and then park them wherever without a penalty charge. So if you see them parked in stupid places it’s probably not the people who use them properly, as we risk a fine for parking them badly!

  3. Hi all!

My name is Elise, I've lived in Dulwich all my life and worked for many local families as a babysitter and childminder. I am now a graduate from the University of Sussex in Drama, Theatre and Performance, and this summer I am running a 10 week drama club for kids based at Ivydale School on a Wednesday evening. I'll attach my flyer to this post!

If your child is interested in drama or acting, or you simply want to get them to burn off some energy this is the perfect place for them.

I have two groups, 4-7 year olds and 8-11 year olds. My email is on the flyer for anyone interested, or if you have any questions!

    Thank you in advance!

  4. Hi all,

I had adopted a pet mouse earlier this year called Gary Oldman, and sadly he died a couple of weeks ago. I want to get another one for Christmas, although no mouse will ever sufficiently replace the love and affection that Gary gave me, I can try. I spoke to Pets at Home and the man had no idea where to get one? Does anyone know where I'd be able to find one (younger the better so that I have a year or two until I experience another harrowing mouse death)? Please help mend my broken, mouse-less heart. Any pet shops that sell mice or local mouse owners with babies?

PS: Please no comments about "there's one under my dishwasher you can have", have heard it a thousand times.

  5. Hi there,

I have a Crosley record player I got for free off of a forum in Brighton. The sound is rubbish, there's perhaps some sort of loose wire or issue with the speakers that are on the side. I changed the needle, and I have got some old oxfam records to try on it (don't worry about me using precious records on it! I had a well-meaning but slightly patronising man tell me not to trust Crosley last time I mentioned the dodgy sound...). Is anyone able to take a look at it?

Photo attatched is the model it is.

  6. There's going to be a big yard sale this Sunday 30th in ED!

(I will have lots of women's clothes and shoes from brands like Urban Outfitters, Doc Martens, Converse, H&M, Brandy Melville, Topshop, ZARA, Forever 21 and ASOS)

  7. I'm a 16 year old living in East Dulwich. I have 2 cats of my own and have done cat-sitting many times before but can look after any other animals you have (including dogs). I also have experience with dog-walking and can walk your dog in any area local to East Dulwich. Please contact me if you need either of these as I am looking to earn money for the summer. I can also decide a suitable charge with you at the time. Please PM me or contact me 078064615441, even if you just need a one off dog-walker or pet sitting. Thanks!
