  1. Thank you, much appreciated, I will check them out.
  2. My daughter has started nursery and attends everyday between 9 and 12. The first month was more than enough she came home exhausted but that has worn of now and I think she would like to do a few more activities in the afternoon. Most of the things I see posted are for morning classes, does anyone have any suggestions for classes/activities we can do between 12.30 - 4 thank you.
  3. My daughter is currently between nurseries at the moment, she goes to magic moments a few days a week (which is great and recommended curtsey of the forum) but she needs more. Basically I want to do a few things with her playgroup, dancing etc, but I am not sure where to start. I have looked at EDtots but if anyone could recommend a few that would be great, she is 2 1/2.
  4. Thank you guys, your replies are very much appreciated, I really didn't know where to start.
  5. Thank you, I have spent the whole day researching nurseries.
  6. Hi All I have been worried for a while about my daughters nursery but to my eternal shame I ignored my feelings because I enjoyed the time I had to get on with things that take three times as long when you have a 2 year old by your feet 😞. However, recently my fears about the nursery have been voiced by others and there is no ignoring them now. My daughter loves nursery, but I cant in good consciousness send her back, I am looking for any recommendations about a good nursery (with spaces) one with great staff and happy stimulated children, I don't work so I don't need a Nellys type nursery, I live in W Dulwich but drive. Thank you for reading and any replies would be very much appreciated.
  7. I will try again, I know I can find books, I just thought new books were a little pricy, but I would love the idea of a book swap.
  8. Thanks everyone, I think I have been on a general "wow, how much!" Charity shops are brilliant, but not so much for books for boys, my eldest is 9. I love the idea of a book swap.
  9. Hi all I was wondering if I have missed something, but I am genuinely baffled by the price of childrens books ( I am aware of library's) but for those who want to own their own. I went into the local bookstore and saw the new David Walliams book is out, the cost is ?12.99, it's a childrens book, am I just completely out of touch or is that a lot ( it's was a hardback) I looked on amazon and it was reduced to ?5 as well as it being sold in sainsburys for ?5. So my point is shouldn't these books be more realistically priced, then the average family would be better placed to support local book shops, I know they cannot compete with amazon, but if the books were priced at say ?7.99 wouldn't that be more reasonable? I love book shops, being able to browse, read the back of the books, I just can't afford to purchase books from them for the whole family.
  10. Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question, when I first had my own place you were able to slip a bt engineer a few pounds and he would run phone sockets all over your house, I think times have changed. Are there any other options to have another phone socket in my home or do I have to pay BT extortionate amounts of money to have this done?
  11. I guess, the car was perfect for our family, bikes, scooters, pushchairs and shopping easily fitted into the back, she was/is reliable and extremely handy and I really wish others would consider their actions and the effect they have on others.
  12. West Dulwich, South Croxted Road 😞
  13. I can not believe it, someone has stolen my Volvo 240, she was ancient but priceless to me, she is called Matilda (her name is written down the side) she is so old almost vintage, I have no idea why anyone would want it, if anyone sees a volvo 240 blue estate abandoned somewhere, please let me know, I would really love to get her back. Thank you.
  14. Thanks guys, British Gas quoted in excess of ?700.
  15. Hi, I am looking for a recommendation for a company to de-sludge my radiators, British Gas did quote, but the price seems ridiculously high, any shared experience would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Thanks guys, he is a hard one, he hates football and didn't want to do cricket camp. He adores the athletics club that I found the information for on this forum which was really great.
  17. Hi, we have been going yearly for a while now, we find that any of the hotels on Jumeirah beach are fab, depending on how much you want to spend will determine which hotel you pick. One of my favourites is Al Qasr. Their are water parks, Atlantis, fun in all the malls, have fun.
  18. Hi Everyone, this forum has been invaluable over the summer holidays, I found out about the athletics club, Bmx sessions, art sessions etc, I was doing really well planning our weekly activities until this morning, when I received an email from Dulwich Picture Gallery to say the art session was not on this week!!!!!!! Now I have three days empty with dodgy weather! Does anyone have any suggestions of any courses and fun activities in and around Dulwich, he is not really an all day camp kind of boy, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, we are on week 7 and I think I have just run out of steam, thanks.
  19. Hi ya I went to Greycoats, granted it was 20 years ago, but I travelled from NW london, I don't remember the traveling ever being an issue, the lower school used to be in sloane square I had a fab time, the only thing I would say it encouraged my love of shopping, walking down the kings road and then Victoria everyday, but I had a fab time x That doesn't really answer your question, but just to say if you do choose to send your daughter there, the journey is doable and it's a great school, I have seen a few girls from the village going so your daughter will have travel partners.
  20. Em created the Lamborghini cake for my son and it was wonderful, he loved it and it was a pleasure to eat.
  21. Brilliant suggestions, it took so long to have the second one, I really want to be able to enjoy both children together before the older one really is too old xx
  22. Thanks guys, it's a long summer and I appreciate all your suggestions.
  23. Hi I wondered if there was anyone out there in a similar position that has already solved my dilemma, I have two children one is 8 and the other is 2. Currently they are taking it turns to do things over the summer holidays, which is fine but I wish there were a few things they could both do and enjoy together. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Scarlett
  24. Hi Em Just to say I sent you an email regarding a cake order in a shape of a car for my soon to be 9 year old son. Thank you Scarlett
