  1. Have you thought about Nunhead? Quite a bit cheaper than ED, much quieter though, but Nunhead/Brockley/Crofton Park stations all within a short walk....

She's run in front of my car a couple of times in Nunhead by the Church on Athenlay Rd in the last 6 months, sobbing at the window saying her baby is sick, needs money urgently, etc, needless to say it's the same woman - I told her to get lost on both occasions.
  3. Just been to Franklins in Kennington for lunch to find it closed, sign in window thanking everyone for their custom etc.. Hope everything's OK in SE22?
  4. I share your pain katybenno. Unfortunately this is happening everywhere during these extensive gas/water pipe replacement works. We had three months of it with buses constantly getting stuck down our narrow road each day, long queues and a huge gouge down the side of my car kindly left by someone anonymous. Hopefully you won't have to wait that long. Stiff upper lip and all that...
  5. Rather ironically, the CEO of HBOS has just had his credit card cloned and identity stolen, just shows no-one is safe! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1047193/HBOS-chief-executive-accounts-frozen-fraudster-steals-identity-withdraws-7-000.html
  6. I don't suppose anyone saw the front page of the Daily Express today? Highlighted the Chip and PIN 'epidemic'.
  7. Sorry, didn't know its name, had convinced myself they were Scandinavian. Great cafe though.
  8. Also: Black Cherry The EDT The new Norwegian/Swedish run cafe opposite Doctor's surgery on Forest Hill Road The round cafe in the Park on the Rye (have to ask for password) Rye Hotel, Rye Lane (have to ask again) 'VeryBerryCherry' - Re: Cafe Nero - it's a 'sip and surf' - you need an account and have to PAY :-[
  9. Possibly the best view of London from the Ladlands flats.
  10. Just got my statement for my cloned card in and picked out my 3 local purchases in the last month. I am sure by some process of elimination we can work out the most likely place of a cloning source? Here's the short list anyway: Texaco Service Station, Grove Vale, SE22 (sounds familiar?) The Rye Pub/Hotel, SE15 Locale Restaurant, SE22 That's it. My cloned card was being used in Benin, West Africa. Mockney Piers, I notice your card details were being used in Benin too, I would love to know if you used any of your cards at the above places?
  11. Went there for the first time tonight, very pleasant, good food, can recommend :)-D
  12. That's funny - I've just had an 'critical' callback message from HSBC saying that my credit card had been cloned together with my correct PIN and someone in Benin, West Africa was trying (unsuccesfully) to withdraw ?200 every few hours.(6)
  13. You should live opposite Nunhead Cemetery - 4.30am every morning with every species known to man squawking it's head off. There seems to be a few pairs of escaped green parakeets making the most noise along with Mr & Mrs Woodpecker. It's enough to drive anyone mad, just on eBay looking under 'shotguns'...
