Voiceworks Community Choir - The Barn at The Herne Tavern - Thursdays 6.45pm-8.30pm Come and join us at the Herne Tavern,Forest Hill Road. We are a friendly, funky, folky choir - with professional vocal tuition thrown in! The choir is run by Haley Stevens, a trained, and practicing, classical singer and teacher. She teaches easy breath and body techniques to help you find and keep your strong voice. We sing folk, jazz, pop and world music. We are currently working on some Billy Joel and Yazzoo, as well as a traditional madrigal and some traditional folk. We sing in The(quirky!)Barn in the garden at The Herne Tavern, so grab a drink and come and join us to see what we get up to! The award winning Voiceworks Company of Singers have been singing at The Goose Green Centre for 10 years. The inclusive choir has a joy of singing at it's heart and their trademark sound is exuberant and joyful. Led by Director Haley Stevens (RCM) Come along and feast your ears on rich harmonies with a program of Spirituals, Pop songs and Folk. This year we are singing for Kids Company. East Dulwich favourite 'The Voiceworks Company of Singers' are celebrating 10 years of joyful singing at the Goose Green Centre with an anniversary concert on Thursday 15th May @ 7pm at St John's Church, Goose Green. The concert is FREE. They will be singing for charity 'Kids Company', with a retiring collection. They recently won, along with their sister choirs in Eastbourne and Lewes, the Jaymar Cup at the Eastbourne Festival of Music and Arts with a score of 'Distinction'. Their trademark sound is exuberant and rich, led by director Haley Stevens. Songs include a capella Spirituals, a Maori anthem, pop and music hall songs with 2,3 and 4 part harmony. A definite must-hear for your first summer concert of the season. The new term starts June 5th.
