Couple 'held at knife point' in ED
northdulmum replied to northdulmum's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yeah - they're fine. We got bars fitted that day by Bronzewood metalworks (consort road peckham - big shout out to them for coming out pretty much straight away and putting bars up). Since the bars went in, both parents more relaxed). They've lived there 20 years... first time this has happened. -
Couple 'held at knife point' in ED

My parents were burgled last week (New Kent Road). They had double glazed windows which were broken into with glass cutters and then inner glazed sound proofing window was taken off hinges. This happened when they were in bed asleep. They hardly took anything, a mobile and a cheap laptop. Parents are in their late 70s... There's nothing you can do about people this determined imo. -

Hello all The family involved have sent the following update that they are comfortable with me sharing... The incident occurred on Calton Avenue on the corner of Gilkes crescent, not far from Woodwarde Road. The car was possibly a Volkswagon, it was definitely green. The man was in his 30s of Indian/Asian origin. I wasn?t a witness but I have spoken with our Nanny a few times about the incident. The police will be talking to her on Monday. The incident happened at 3:27. There were surprisingly no witnesses.

Dear Parents/carers, One of our parents has just informed me of an incident that occurred on Woodwarde road yesterday afternoon that I feel is important to make you aware of. Her nanny was walking to pick up at DVIS with the baby in a buggy and 3 year old on a bike. The 3 year old cycled a bit ahead, a man in a green vauxhall got out and tried to grab the child. The nanny shouted him off and he took off in the car. The police were informed by the parents when they returned home, they have stressed that they should have been informed immediately to get cars out in the area. Please do make your carers aware of this too. We will be reading age appropriate 'stranger danger' books to the children as well.

Passing cars on East Dulwich Road

Phyllis Lane sounds kinda cool -
Hello, i received psychotherapy after a traumatic childbirth experience from a Greek (?) lady who was excellent and i have totally forgotten her name! I want to recommend her to a friend in need. Anyone know her? She also worked in Harley St. I think she was originally from Greece? This was a while back so she may have moved on. Thanks

Painter and decorator - Dave Franklin recommendation
northdulmum replied to NickF's topic in Request a Tradesperson
I have a positive recommendation for Dave, he has helped with a lot around our house including an emergency plumbing problem and came at short notice. Would happily recommend (and i'm not F or F). -
Hello, I've just been zapped by a policeman who was on camberwell grove just before the lights. There was a group of approx 5 of them. Each time a car went past, they popped out and zapped them. It's a 20mph zone but I've no idea what I was doing. I suspect above 20 but no much. I didn't see them and only realised after I drove past. So, my question is: if I was above 20mph would they pull me up straight away? Or is the fact they let me drive on mean I'm ok? I doubt I was more than 25mph and def not as high as 30mph.
