  1. Thanks for the recommendation! Seconding here. Alex came at short notice, fixed our sink and took a look at our dishwasher. Really nice guy, great plumber and incredibly reasonable price. Recommend!
  2. It can be tricky as your levels can show as normal and you still feel bad. If that's the case, worth asking your doc to order a blood test for intrinsic factor (stomach protein that processes b12) as this determines whether your body can take up that B12 floating around. Intrinsic Factor deficiency is pernicious anaemia. Lots of good info/real experiences at www.theb12society.com But to your original question: I had very low B12 and my IF was fine so oral supplements work for me, but to get me started, I bought an injection voucher redeemable at certain London pharmacies from VitaJab (I shopped around) for £27 (think it's £29 now). Booked an appt, got my jab within the week and my doc approved of the jump-start. https://www.vitajab.co.uk/
  3. I just went for my first wax since lockdown (badly needed!) at Sawm Health & Beauty, and wanted to recommend Sawm to others. It's a small salon based at 491 Lordship Lane, and Sawm has really gone to great lengths to make sure the environment is safe for clients and staff (cleaning, masks, sanitiser, extra time between appointment). She is a fantastic, thorough waxer with a kind, professional manner, and her prices are really reasonable (I paid ?38 for a Hollywood with slightly fancier hot wax because I'm a chicken). Am hoping to go back to her soon for a massage. She also has an independent nail technician in on Tuesdays. If you want to support a local woman-owned business and get a great treatment, I can't recommend Sawm highly enough.
  4. Hi folks, Our bathroom door needs replacing. Can anyone recommend a good local joiner? Many thanks! K
  5. Just wanted to give a shout out to Plough Homecraft on Lordship Lane for their friendly help and good advice. Having bought a tap from them that had perished prematurely, they talked me through disassembling the tap myself and sourced a replacement part free of charge from the manufacturer. Friendly, supportive and saved me money - really great family business!
  6. Lee Garvey plumbing came by to help out with a temperamental boiler that was firing but not heating water. It decided to work on the day but they gave lots of good advice regarding the boiler and possible reasons. We've used them before and would recommend them anytime. Lovely guys. Kirsten
  7. My favourite waxer Sawm has now moved into premises of her own on Lordship Lane, and I wanted to recommend her highly. She's friendly, thorough and really fairly priced (?28 for a Hollywood!). A total treasure. Business details: Sawm Health & Beauty, 491 Lordship Ln, London SE22 8JY, UK [email protected] 02086935222 www.sawmhealthandbeauty.com
  8. One more recommendation for today: Clive Jones is a brilliant electrician working in the SE22 area. Fitted us in at short notice and fixed three problems (new light fitting, fixing surging fitting, fixing wall socket box) in no time for a really fair price. Highly recommended! He's on 07831349332.
  9. Just a quick post to recommend the wonderful Sawm, my beauty therapist, who is based at Linda's Hair and Beauty on Lordship Lane (Bus Stop Underhill Road). She does the best waxing at really fair prices, using a combo of hot and strip wax for the best results, and she's so nice it totally takes my mind off it! I don't go to anyone else now. Linda's H&B number is 020 8299 8882 and they should put you through.
  10. Hallo everyone! Can anyone recommend a catsitter from the evening of 27 December through 1st January? Eloise is a very gentle, friendly cat and just needs food, litter cleaning and possibly a little play. Picture attached! Thanks all! Kirsten
  11. Hi folks, I'm looking for a trustworthy local plumber for the East Dulwich area as our drain is blocked. Anyone got a good recommendation? Many thanks! Kirsten
  12. Hi folks. We're looking for someone to fix our wonky windows. Anybody got any recommendations? Thank you, one and all! K
  13. Thanks so much to everyone who messaged us - we really appreciate the festive spirit! We've now got a sitter for Mitch over Christmas - crisis over!
  14. Hi everyone! We've been let down last minute for Christmas care for our cat, and many places are obviously booked up. Any recommendations, or indeed, does anyone offer a professional cat-sitting service over the festive period? None of us can take the little dude back to our Christmas lodgings for various reasons (mine being a hostile second cat). Many thanks!
