  1. I need help moving a sofa from one East Dulwich home to another before Monday 14th. It is a job of half an hour. Tops.
  2. This is not a pleasant job but I am moving in mid_December and would like someone/two people to remove and dispose of most of the gravel in the side return of my flat in SE22 (which has been used as a cat toilet - I said it wasn't a pleasant job) and replace it with new gravel for the new home owner and generally clean & tidy up that area of the property. Probably half a day to one day's work. You would need to pick up the bags of new gravel (of course I will pay for them). Prepared to pay well for a decent job. Must be done before 9th December.
  3. I had a walk-in jab at Lloyds Pharmacy in North Cross Road last week. Was surprised at how easy it was. I am 60 but I don't think that made a difference.
  4. Looking for recommendations for fencing contractors. I have a very wobbly (and in some places, collapsed) fence courtesy of the weekend's winds and need quotes for strengthening it. I don't think it needs replacing. Friern Road address.
  5. Help! I need an electrician tomorrow sometime (could be evening) or on Tuesday morning - I am moving on Tuesday and want to take these light fittings with me and just realised I need an electrician to remove them. Quick job cash payment? https://professional.scp.co.uk/products/boundary-300
  6. I'm taking delivery of a King Size bed with drawers from made.com (model is called Skye) on Wednesday next week but didn't book an assembly service at the time of purchase. This can't be done retrospectively (apparently). I need someone/two people to put this together for me either on Thursday (after Midday) or Friday next week. I have a quote from Homeserve but they can't do it on those days and I would really like it done before the weekend. Let me know if you can help. I would like someone who knows what they are doing....

    Shots...

Did anyone else hear what sounded like gunshots last night around Midnight in Lordship Lane area - I think in the direction of the park but could be mistaken. I heard maybe four shots? Could've been an air rifle? I wondered if someone is taking pot shots at foxes again.
  8. Someone in Court Lane (I think) has got themselves a dog that spends much of its time outside, barking. I don?t know how people can be so inconsiderate. It has totally ruined the peace of my garden in Lordship Lane (which backs onto gardens in Court Lane). With that and the bloody parakeets, noise levels have risen to irritatingly loud levels. If it is your dog, I don?t know what you can do about it except don?t put the dog in the garden at various times of day and then just leave it there, barking.
  9. My house has been on the market for a year or so (although I took it off last summer for a few weeks). I?ve had 3 ?buyers?. The last one pulled out only after I had found a flat, had an offer accepted on it and commissioned and paid for a survey. It is now on for ?140k than it was 12 months ago. All very frustrating.
  10. Does anyone know of a garage or other that could fit a seat belt to the box seat of a camper van so that a baby seat can be strapped into it?
  11. If you need space and structure to reflect on the future of your small or medium-sized business, I am running a Bird Table group in East Dulwich from January. The group will meet 3 times during the Spring term and your commitment would be to attend all three meetings, which will be held at Fifty Seven in North Cross Road. There will be a maximum of six participants, all women in a similar situation to yourself. The dates are 23/01, 21/02 and 21/03 (10am to 12) and the cost is ?180.00. See www.bird-table.co.uk for more information about The Bird Table network, and www.eidyia.co.uk for more information about me (or find me on Facebook).
  12. The more people complain about the service, the stronger the rationale for closing it down altogether and moving it to Peckham. The staff are clearly under siege at this time of the year and can't cope with the volume of packages but it isn't their fault and they are also chronically understaffed and probably badly managed or whatever and if it moves to Peckham they potentially lose their jobs so to complain about the staff is just totally counter-productive. I for one would be incredibly inconvenienced by having to go to Peckham on a Saturday morning to pick up a parcel during the 11 months of the year that the office in Silvester Road provides a totally satisfactory service....so for goodness sake just factor in a wait and put up with it!
  13. This group will run for an initial term of 3 sessions costing ?180 (for all 3)and starting in January. Dates are Tuesday January 23rd, Wednesday February 21st and Wednesday 21st March, from 10am to Midday. The venue is FiftySeven, 57 North Cross Road, SE22. There is space for six participants: locally-based women who run small or medium sized businesses who would like to meet with a group of like-minded women and a professional coach to explore how to develop and grow their businesses. To find out more, ask questions or register an interest please email me [email protected].
  14. Just a thought but have you tried Airbnb? It is better value and it might suit your parents to stay in a comfortable home. I have two rooms in my house in Lordship Lane on Airbnb and capacity between 1st and 10th December. Louise
  15. I am a trained professional and accredited business coach, also certified by The Bird Table (www.bird-table.co.uk) and I am setting up a business development group for women in East Dulwich, starting in January. Just firming up the dates and venue (initial commitment is to 3 dates over 3 months). Please contact me if you would like more information, although I will post again soon.
