One of life's mysteries I guess.

Holding people who disagree with you to higher standards. What did you do to engage with the EU? What did 90 percent of remain do? Also fuck all. I'm glad you find it hilarious though. At least I can bring a small amount of joy to you dark and disastrous existence in brexit Britain.

Engaging with your trolling bullshit for a start

To think that people > engaging in that process are "wasting their time" > is pretty short-sighted. I think the complaint from some quarters is that quite often it's not really engagement in the process. It's just obstinate trying to prove to all and sundry that Brexit is a bad idea, and seemingly taking the view that 'I voted remain' so it's not my problem to fix'. Certainly, not all remains, but a vocal minority would prefer to take the self-righteous high ground, rather than engage to help make the future relationship (such as it is) with the EU as successful as possible. I'm sure some will reply to this thread and say why should they have to come up with solutions when they didn't want it all in the first place; and therin lies the frustration, and the genesis of the 'remaoner' tag. Just look at this thread to see how many predictions of doom, coupled with blame there are,as opposed to constructive engagement. Throw in the snarky 'go on then, explain it to me' or 'go on then, name me one good thing about brexit' or 'it's your fault not mine' and its not reall conducive to rationale debate. And I'm sure someone will reply saying that leave voters aren't rational, and believe in unicorns and lies. It's tiresome.
  5. Are you talking to me?
  6. This is in no way an argument for leave or reMain. But a direct retort to the comment above.... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euroscepticism
  7. Also, I don't disagree with the supermajority clause for such a big change. But we didn't....So what can you do....just argue on the edf I guess...
  8. Fair enough. At the risk of repeating myself )again) I think it is acceptable to vote on principle...So we disagree, and let's be reasonable:) But I think the analogy to climate change is inaccurate. No scientists or experts have denied that EU influences UK regulation, and that is the principle some people voted on. If that was you key issue, then that's how you voted...

So is it unacceptable to the crowd here that someone can vote on principle is sovereignty without necessarily knowing all the detail of EU/UK legislation? Surely many people voted remain becuase 'it would better for the economy' without being experts in economics or trade regulations? Is voting on principle not acceptable? As I feel that's how most people vote in most elections.

It's worse still that the same > nonsense gets repeated out of the blue like this We disagree on quite a few things (but perhaps less than you think). And I genuinely respect your passion for your positions. But I think you in particular have a tendency to approach/cross the line of decency/respect, and I've called your comments snide and sniping in the recent past. I have no problem with what you're saying. I often have a problem with how it's said. But in anycase, this is wildly off topic. Carry on....
  12. Seriously, I said this yesterday. Don't you guys ever tire of trying to 'score points' against someone you disagree with? Particularly in this case where debating the leave versus remain question; and berating people about the way they voted 4 years ago is a total waste of time. I dont agree with much of what Foxy says, but half the replies to hiS posts above are willfully misinterpreting what he has said in an attempt to catch him out in a pedantic 'word trap' in order to make him look foolish. I'll let Mr Pie say what I think needs to be said here.....
  13. It's also tedious when every one of your posts is a sniping attempt to rile or start an argument. I think my previous engagement on this forum shows that I appreciate the importance and complexity of the issue. But, even though we disagree, you knew that....and clearly just revel in snide self-righteousness. Anyway....I'm out for now...I'm sure we'll speak again soon.
  14. I don't have a 'lot'. I'm a person who happened to vote a certain way in a referendum 4 years ago. My entire identity isn't defined by that, nor do I feel anyone else who happened to vote the same way in any way 'represents' me, just as I dont represent them. Part of the tedium, is the constant desire from 'people like you' to sort everyone into two tribes, and associate everything you've ever heard from the "other tribe" as what everyone in that tribe believes.....it's so boring.... For example it wasn't one of 'my lot' who brutally killed a wild animal with a baseball bat. I guess 'your lot' must just all love the EU and clubbing animals to death......
  15. Blimey...this is getting tedious..... I think by now, on this forum we've pretty much all said what we think with regards to remain or leave. People have given their reasons for voting one way or the other. It's been debated to death, and other people have chosen to accept or disregard those reasons. Either way, the leave question is now moot. You're not going to change you mind Sephiroth, and it wouldn't matter even if you (or anyone else) did, so surely asking the a different version of the same question for the umpteenth time hoping to get an answer that you can mock or dismiss isn't particularly productive? But...just my opinion....I'm sure you'll carry on as you wish.....
  16. Geewhizz....this thread is going to be a hoot this year with the anti-brexit mob pouncing on any whiff of negative news so they can gleefully pin it on Brexit with a big dose of 'See...I told you they're all stupid'.... And why not? It's been such a winning strategy so far...
  17. Sephiroth Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Transition period. No one is expecting anything to > change next week. As you known Yes indeed. But it is interesting that the prediction of doom keep getting kicked down the road. First it was meant to all happen as soon as we voted to leave, then it was when article 50 was triggered, then it was when we leave, now it's after a transition period.... I'm not in anyway suggesting there will be no negative impacts of the change. But perhaps some of the hyperbole can now be recognised for what it was.

  19. Well....I guess we can expect the food shortages, economic collapse and general armageddon next week then... Or maybe, just maybe.....life will carry on.....
  20. So....lots of controversy over the Peloton advert..... But none over the Iceland advert..... In one it's a long bow that a woman has been called fat, in the other a man is directly called an idiot.....https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/media/2019/dec/04/peloton-backlash-sexist-dystopian-exercise-bike-christmas-advert

  22. I genuinely don't know how Emily Thornbury thinks she has a shot at the leadership. And if she actually does have real shot, then I clearly know even less than that. In addition to her embarrassing performances anytime I've ever seen her interviewed. Her clear and evidential disdain for 'traditional' labour voters is pretty unavoidable....

You're right. It's only 'other people' who rant on here..... Perhaps you take your own advice and start a thread to speak about whatever the heck you want, and stop interjecting in this one.....
  24. Mr and Mrs Bob....I hope is was an artisan tree? Or at the very least an organic one. I also hope you have offset the carbon impact of your deforestation somehow.....
